Awaiting tests

Recommended Posts

ok so i did my first consult today, and they said that I would be a good candidate for the Lap band. Just gotta get an EKG, blood work, and then wait for the insurance results.

i had been so nervous about my first visit that i was actually loosing sleep. I have no idea why! It was awesome. love the place, great people. I can't wait to get this show on the road!!

Glad things went so well for you. The testing is the easy part. Waiting on the insurance company, that's another story. Good luck to you and let us know how things are going!

Hope things go well. Waiting for insurance sucks and then finding out you have to do 6 more months of waiting for surgery for a supervised diet sucks too. I hope your insurance isn't too bad. Good luck.

That's kinda what I'm afraid of....waiting for insurance and then hear something like having to do another horrible diet...blah..we all know those only work for sometime and then its out the pooper.

That's why the best thing to do is get a copy of your insurance company's WLS policy to go over yourself so you know what you are looking at before you get started and start getting psyched about surgery, only to find out you are going to ahve to do that 6 month diet or something. Also, it will let you know what sort of records they will need and any tests they might require on top of what the doctor's office does.

I attended a seminar with my hubby because he decided to do the lap band first. I saw everything he went through and was with him 110%. When he went in he only did a consult and they called him within 2 weeks for blood work and a meeting with the doctor. PLUS they gave him a date for surgery 3 days after that. I was like in shock at how fast they put him through.

I know for sure mine isn't going to be like that but here's hoping! Its just that once you start this process you can't wait to get on with it. Its not only going to be the best thing that has happened for me, but for my family. Everything is going to change.

I took all the "junk" food out of my pantry, and my fridge today. It was hard because its so yummy. But if I want my kids to eat right I have to eat right.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
