Different ways of feeling temporarily tighter

Recommended Posts

I'm curious about all the different ways the band can feel temporarily tighter. I've experienced being tighter during periods of stress, while being sick and during the week before my TOM. I've read about getting tighter during flights and after intense exercise.

Are there any other situations in which the band can feel temporarily tighter?

As dumb as it sounds I have found its true. the Barometric pressure affects my band. The BP also affects my Migraines. So if your a person that weather affects your body , allergies , ect. chances are the BP might affect your band.

there are a few websites you can go to check the BP but i have a barometer in my house, I as well as other bandsters have found that any BP before 29 seems to make us tighter. Above that we are pretty good !

I can guarantee if I have to eat with people I dont know well, I'll get tighter, must be stress.

Cold makes me tight too - as in ice cream or cold yogurt etc. If I dont want to eat but have the munchies, drinking iced Water means I cant eat for about half an hour, enough time for that head hunger to go away.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
