still trying: but am worried that It won't happen

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone,

I'm really happy for all of you that have recently been approved

for lap band surgery. Called my lap band coordinator today in Dallas. She

says it takes about 60 days to hear from your insurance. Is this correct???

Ladies I'm worried that it won't happen for me. Meantime, I'm getting bigger

waiting for this to happen . GOD I NEED A BREAK IN MY LIFE. Sometimes I

feel like everyone is getting what they want except me. I don't mean any

disrespect. It is just really tough on me now. I feel this is what I really need

in my life now. Maybe someone or anyone could give me some advice.

I WOULD APPRECIATE IT GREATLY!!! Have a nice day or night.

love, dell

Yeah It could take that long... Or even 30 days... Keep in touch with your insurance company I highly recomend this... For me after 30days I started calling and found out my papers were in the wrong dept. got that fixed real quick.. call them once a week if you have to. All of them are diffrent but either way stay on thier tails. This is your break so fight for it!!! It might not happen tomorrow but IT WILL HAPPEN!! and you will be so much happier in the long run. Good Luck with everything and please let us know what happens.

I went through Dr Benavides in Grand Prarie and it took 4 days, I had my surgery 2 weeks from my consult, so it just depends on your insurance company and the manner that the office submits your info.

Dell, Trish is absolutely right. It may take your coordinator 30 days just to get her act in gear! Call your carrier and make sure everything is in the right hands and they have everything they need. You don't want to wait 60 days only to be told they're still waiting for a fax or something!

While you're waiting, please start getting in the habit of getting your daily waterload in - but not with meals (or 1 hour afterwards), routine exercise, eating Proteins first (lean, moist meats), then vegetables. My insurance originally denied me, I appealed, 8 months later got my band. But I used the time to research and get myself mentally ready. Worth every minute I had to wait!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
