Diabetes Neuropathy anyone?

Hi Ya'll

Im in the early stages of my lap band journey. I saw a psy and met with my pcp. He gave me his blessing and i meet with the surgeon in 2 weeks. I am positive my insurance will cover it. Anywho when I met with my pcp he told me my A1C went up to 7.8 :w00t:.

I am a little freaked out becouse my right fingers have been tingling lately, like they fell asleep.

I dont want to jump to conclusions but has anyone suffered from diabetic neuropathy and has it improved with the lap band?

Thanks for your comments guys:smile2:

I can tell you I have Diabetic Neuropathy in my hands and leg from my knees down to my toes. Mine has not improved with the surgery. I am hoping that it will with time. I am not off of any of my medication. My Dr. wont take me off of anything until I reach at least 120 lbs. So I guess I will have to wait. Although my blood Sugars have improved in the last 5 weeks since my surgery.

Not to sound dumb but is there a test that is done? :confused2:

My feet are numb from the socks down. I am 9 months out of banding and have lost 80 pounds. I am now off all insulin, Avandia and just take metformin for diabetes. The numbness in my feet has not gotten any better. Hasn't gotten any worse but.........
