Hi! I just started my mushy stage a couple of days ago and crackers were on the list from the doc. I tried a few w/laughing cow cheese last night and had no problems. I got the Ritz reduced fat crackers.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

crackers aren't on my list:sad:

If i was going to have some why not try wasa crackers.

i'm on my first day of mushies (2 more weeks to go until soft solids) and i had campbell's select butternut squash Soup (just added pepper) and it was FANTASTIC. especially since i've been on clears for a week.

My doc recommends a baked whole grain cracker like wheat thins. I have tried them and didn't have any problems but remember only 2-3 as the calories & carb add up quickly.

Hi:

Crackers weren't on my mushies list. I eat them often, and rice cakes too. Either with Peanut Butter or chicken salad are good for me for a portable lunch. If it's rice cakes I eat just one. If it's crackers I eat four of them.

Good luck.

Sue

I will tell you that crackers CAN be in your future! I never have had any issues with crackers--but then I was on liquids and soft foods for six weeks post-op, so I wouldn't have even started on them till about two months post-op.

Even now I have a few wheat-thins every day with my Protein for lunch--and yes, I haven't had bread (or a piece of chocolate cake  ) since last September--and guess what? I don't miss it!!

I've had a few crackers with my chicken salad and I had no problems...I chewed really well. The only way to know is to try it. Just watch the portion because of carbs/sugar...

I had whole wheat crackers and chicken salad for lunch today. I only do it once a week, but sure enjoy it when I do. I found some wierd crackers at the store the other day that have 0% fat, almost no calories what so ever and even have a few grams of Protein. I got the cracked pepper flavor and they were awesome! they are from Australia. ???? I'll look at the name again tonight and let you know. They reminded me of a thin baked merigue. I guess the egg like quality is what provided the protein, but they were delicious. I was THRILLED to find them.

Thanks everyone for the help. I will try the crakers. What I say to myself is if I don't try it, then How will I know what I can and can't eat.

I love bread but don't miss it. I just figured can have something else then just eat my meal with a fork. Thanks again everyone!!! I will give it a try..

My doctor told me I could eat wheat crackers with Peanut Butter for Protein. I don't even miss the breads and haven't tried the crackers yet. Do you mix your tuna with anything? I use light mayo and a pinch of relish. It's very tasty, you should try it.

yes I mix my tuna with boiled eggs and mayo and some relish..VERY GOOD! I never ate Peanut Butter yet, a little scared to cause I keep hearing that it can get stuck cause it's thick, but peanut butter is on my list. So I will try it with crakers. Thanks for answering my question for me.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
