I don't know.....It seems to me that with belly stretch marks especially REALLY bad ones from babies (like freddy Kruger got a hold of you) your skin is stretched sooooo thin that it would seem to stitch it back together and make it look realitively seemless would be near impossible. I beg to differ on the stretch marks not making any difference I think it would make the art of suturing a clean incision difficult. Just my opinion.

Here are my scars - Day 7 (I took this on Monday)... there is actually still some like Gummy tape residue on some of the scars... I can't get the crap off.. oh well.. I'm sure it will eventually wash off. There is also one little teenie scar further up that I didnt' realize my hubby cut off in the picture as it's under my sweater but its the smallest one and completely healed and not noticeable.. I feel weird posting my stretchmarked belly, which, let me tell you, the picture MAGNIFIES stretchmarks.. lol The port scar looks really huge, but it's just shy of 2 inches. ( And thanks to Losingjusme for resizing this for me!! love ya girl! )

You are healing up so nicely - and only on day 7!!! Check me out (i'm above you). I still look like someone who belongs on CSI!

Thank you! I'll probably take another picture for day 14 and put them side by side or something. I had the steri strips too.. the only thing that sucks about them is getting them off... I took this pic right after I had gotten the last bit of the steri strip off in the shower... they bugged the heck out of me and that glue.. ICK. I still have pieces of it on me that I can't get off! I can't wait to see yours after you get all that off

First photo was a couple days post-op (heh, please excuse the half boob and the bad taken-from-my-computer quality).

Second photo was tonight, 7 weeks out, taken by my boyfriend.

The bruising below the port scar in the second pic is from my first fill this past Wednesday.

Thanks everyone for all these pictures. I saw someone with staples. It was in 2005. I was wondering if that's still the norm or is it mostly sutures now?

My Dr actually used surgical glue to close me up. I am very please that I had no external stitches. I think it really help decrease the scarring. Ironically, I just had a Tummy Tuck and my PS used the same method. cut from hip to hip and not one external stitch. Its healing nicely.

Will that arnica montana work on old scars?

arnica montana is for the bruising after the surgery. I used it and had wonderful results. scar gels/creams with aloe vera are great for the following months as you heal to help keep the scar from raising.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
