I can't believe it! I just went to the store and got some Zicam. Hopefully that will make it go away.

Wow...it's finally happening.

I was banded this past Monday and thought I was coming down with a sinus infection 3 days before. I started taking antibiotics immediately and everything worked out. Good Luck!!

Thanks. I'm doing well. Still a little gassy, but feeling good. Incisions are healing nicely, no more pain. I am on five weeks of "full liquids", but I can have pudding!! I would say I had a pretty good experience overall and I am very happy my insurance covered it. Great aftercare and an overnight stay at the hospital helped. My surgeon insists on one overnight for observation and the hospital's bariatric nurse was great.

That's so great! I'm glad you are doing well. I was looking at your ticker and noticed we are starting at about the same weight (1 pound difference lol) and I am assuming you are probably about my same height since our starting BMI is the same too. I am interested in seeing how you progress in your weightloss so I might have an idea of what to expect. I won't be banded until June, as long as insurance goes ok. So I'm going to be watching you...

Gee...I sound like a stalker!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
