Oh I HOPE, I HOPE, I HOPE I feel this way when I get back. Hell, at this point, I just hope I get back. I'm "nerval" as my sister likes to say, I know because I'm cursing. (That was a really bad and obnoxoius curse, wasn't it? I'm so proud...!)

I'm so happy for you, Jenna and Jamie, and everyone else with the success of weight loss. Way to GO!

So when did everyone start doing more strenuous exercise? Like running for example. That has always been the best way for me to shed pounds so I want to try and jog/walk. I am thinking in week 3 I can try it.

MORE MORE MORE!! I am obsessed! I am eating so good/healthy/according to plan without being hungry!!! WOOOOOOOOT!! My obsession with seeing the scale go down is like a torrid love affair!!

Jenna, I was lucky and dropped a good amount of weight in the beginning, too. Your body is detoxing and cleansing from all the liquids flushing out your colon. After 2 weeks of liquids I felt like I had a colon scrub, clean as a whistle and all that sludge gone. Everyone be warned - Jenna's kicking Band butt!

Jenna, I waited until my dr. released me for more strenous exercise. But you can do things like walking, treadmill, etc. Just listen to your body, if it hurts, don't do it.

Ok, Reality check for me! I was so damn excited that I went to the mall today and decided to walk walk walk. However I had to crawl crawl crawl into my bed when i got home. too much, too fast. I am slowing it down. :)

Jenna, I waited until I was 6 weeks post op to do any kind of exercise. The nutritionalist I had with Dr. Ortiz was not Dr, Miranda a year ago and she told me specifically not to do any exercise until I was on solid foods, she did not want me to become light headed or burn too much lean muscle mass until I was eating enough Protein and to besure I was healed all the way. Dr. Miranda may give different instructions then the nutritionalist I had.

Yes Michelle, thanks. I really should email Dr Miranda I think for suggestions. Pre op I don't think I was even listening to her I have to admit. I was so nervous/excited/anxious/etc about banding that all I talked to was like the teacher on Peanuts cartoons going "wa wa wa waaaaaa wa wa wa". Today was a reality check as I pushed a bit too hard. I don't think I hurt anything because it was just walking (not even fast pace). I just think I went too far. A good nap cured me.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
