I'm slipping between a hole in the cracks. I'm afraid to call my Doctor, or nutritionist.. Obviously I will call very soon.. I need to know if anyone else has had this problem.. Lab Band August 7th.. Weight Loss 30 pounds. Nothing for months and months. I am eating like my old self. Gained 5 pounds over last two months. :huh2:

I don't understand why you are afraid to call Dr? Surely after going though the surgery going in for a follow up for band adjustment is the easy bit? Isn't that a normal part of the process until the adjustment is the right size for you to maintain weight loss?

Vicky:

Sounds like you need help from your surgeon - a fill! This will make things much easier.

I agree with Sue Magoo. It sounds like you definitely need a fill. In the mean time, chart everything you are eating and make sure your calories and Protein are tightly monitored. Even increase your exercise level, which will boost your spirits as well. Hang in there, you didn't come this far to stop trying.

Just go and get a fill. There's nothing to be afraid of, that's the way its SUPPOSED to work. As you loosen, you will eat more and your appetite increases. And you will get looser over time both from weight loss and evaporation.

Its easy fixed.

Vicky,

I needed seven (7!) fills before I had the level of restriction that I needed, and that level has been steady for a year. My surgeon chided me for waiting so long in between fills. Don't make my mistake. Get thy hind end to the surgeon!

Vicky, quite simply if you are eating like your old self and are gaining weight you need a fill. Keep going back until you can only eat 1/4 to 1/2 cup of food. You are certain to lose at that rate. Good luck.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
