I have a complaint!

Recommended Posts

I'm semi-new to LBT but not new to forums in general.

What is really irritating is trying to read through one long run-on sentence, poor capitalization, poor spelling, and no paragraphs!

The no paragraphs are the worst as they are difficult to read.

We have spell check, use it for goodness sake.

Punctuation is good.

I've come across quite a few posts that are long with poor spelling, punctuation and no paragraphs. They've been very hard to read. I hope I'm not alone in my thinking here. I'd just like to know when a thought ends and another one begins!

Thank you for letting me rant, I'm done now.

Seeing as how we have something like 30 posts on this same topic here, I'm guessing you aren't.

We do have members who aren't native English speakers, some who don't know any different, and a few who do it on purpose. All types. The beauty is - I can only respond to posts that make sense to me, eh?

Sorry. I'm from the south. I'll try to turn the southern-to-English translator back on.

I can handle misspelled words and such but when someone uses NO punctuation and the sentences keeping going it drives me NUTS! :)

haha! Me too. I always say when I mess up "oh, me Louiserana Edukation is showin" You know.

I do hate things written in all caps. I don't mind bad spelling etc. but all caps annoys me, but I usually just don't read them. It hurts my eyes.

I love it when this topic comes up again. People want to say something, but they don't realize that the majority of people will just skip over their post because it's too hard to read.

I am more annoyed by the all caps or all first letter upper case. Really boggles my brain, I keep thinking it's suppose to be a new sentence.

Agree. My other pet peeve is people who can't actually ever end a sentence . . . because it is easier to just type dots . . . and then more dots . . . because the mind wanders and never finishes any single thought . . . I'm going to get all old on everyone and ask, don't they teach anybody the use of a single . anymore?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
