Trying to get preganant, which of my old clothes and what size do I keep, Friend said the trousers are no good keeping as will too big in the legs? What size tops, dresses, skirts etc do I keep. Or do I just keep jackets and tops?? confused as dont want to spend heaps. Not pregnant yet but practicing to get there, practice is fun.

hey there,

good luck on falling pg!

You won't want to keep any of your pants as you'll mainly grow in your tummy and hips so larger pants will just look saggy baggy around your crotch and bum - not very attractive at all, lol. As for tops, it all depends on how you carry. I went through both my pregnancies wearing very few maternity clothes and mainly just stretchy tops in my normal size or just 1 size larger. I would probably keep some nice big, comfy tops for around the house, perhaps even some trackies come to think of it, but for going out in public I really wouldn't go with anything larger than 1 size above what you would normally wear.

Hope at least some of that made sense for you.

Thanx for all your advice, yes it makes sense, out with the old clothes, well as you said majority of them. Best of luck on getting pregnant again, hopefully a girl this time eh?

I would keep your 14- and 16's I have grown back into mine with this pg and they look fine. My smaller ones got very uncomfortable about 5 weeks into the pg, I am now going on 14 and still have not gained a pound but i couldnt feel comfortable in my smaller size stuff. I am glad a still had mine. As for tops I am still in my regular at this point but I am sure I will be getting maternity later on.

No this is my 3rd, which does make a difference, but we all go thru that stage where we look chunky before we look pg!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
