It's been a while since I got on to check on how everyone is doing. I just wanted to drop by and say Hello! The pictures I've seen so far, everyone is looking FANTASTIC! I have to admit, coming back and seeing the progress of my fellow Jan. bandsters makes me regret my decision even more. I let my nerves get the best of me, but what's done is done I suppose and I can't go back in time. So, I"m just gonna keep on truckin'..lol. Hope everyone is doing good!

Hey Amber! Thanks for stopping in to say hello! You can't regret your decision because it was the right one for you at the time. I'll quote your post: "DH and I had a long LONG conversation well into the early morning I made the decision. I canceled everything Monday morning. I felt like I had a huge weight lifted off of me, so I know I made the right choice."

I can't believe it's been 2 over months since your surgery date! I just had my 3 month anniversary and it's amazing how quickly time flies.

If you don't mind me asking, what were your feelings the month following your scheduled surgery date? Is surgery an option for you in the future or have you decided it's not the way to go?

Be well!

Hey there, Amber!

Of course we January bandsters remember you! I'm glad you checked in!

How are you doing? Have you been able to achieve what you hoped to?

Please fill us in on what's been going on in the last couple months with you. You may not be banded, but we care about you anyway!

Hi Amber, don't ever doubt that the decision was the right one. I resisted the Lap Band talk from my doctor for years, and it was only last year that I decided to do it.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
