Size 16 Miss England hopeful Chloe unveils a curvy look in first official bikini shoot | the Daily Mail

I am very happy for this girl. I am glad she has the confidence to do something like that. I am about the same size as her, maybe a little smaller, (assuming we are talking about the same size 16 here), and I have to say MY STOMACH DOES NOT LOOK LIKE THAT. I would be SO much happier if it did. But no, I practically have a muffin top even if I'm NEKKID.

Okay, I'm done whining now. :cursing:

Just read the article and have to say wow she looks great and good on her for breaking into that industry that is all about very thin women. She looks fantastic.

Sounds like maybe she's close to a US 12... I'm still gonna whine, cuz I still wont have that tummy when I'm a 12, lol. :cursing:

she's five feet 10 inches and about 175 pounds according to the article.

That wold put her at about the "healthy range" at that height and weight.

As I guy, she looks great. (err, I know she is only 17).

However, if she was severly overwieght or obese I might have problem with it. Not because she would not look good enough, but because I think it would send a bad message to other girls. I am sorry, even those I am morbidly obese, I think children should grow up thinking healthy.

But again, the girl looks great, glad she had the confidents to go through with it and hope to see pageants more like that over in the U.S.

Kind of sad that she is at a healthy weight for her height but is standing out as an "exception" to the "normal" beauty queen.

Assuming her stats listed are accurate.

Yeah, I'll be the black sheep.. I don't think she looks good there in that bikini.

I've seen other pics of her, and have been cheering her on, but when I saw that pic the other day I had to cringe.

Maybe if she had a better cut bikini it'd look alright, but eh.

I have to agree. She doesn't really look that good in that bikini. The cut is wrong for her, and she needs more support for the girls.

That said, she is a gorgeous young woman.

Here's a comment from Monica Grenfell ( a formal Miss England Judge).

Feted and fawned over for her courage in daring to break the mould, Chloe boasts she wants to be an "ambassador for curves".

Who on earth does she think she's kidding? What she's demonstrating isn't bravery but a shocking lack of self-control.

Instead of flaunting her figure, Chloe ought to own up to the truth. She is fat and she got that way by over-eating.

She does a pretty good job explaning herself. Heres the article if your interested, although she didn't convince me.

According to the article she has a BMI of 26 (overweight) so saying she is a healthy weight is wrong.

This is actually a really good example of why people think that a healthy BMI looks unhealthy. By holding this girl up, and saying that she is the picture of health and womanhood (at a BMI of 26 at 17 years old) We are saying that anyone any thinner is NOT healthy and womanly. And that's wrong. Yes she is a beautiful girl. Very beautiful in fact. But she IS overweight. She is not a healthy weight.

A size 16 in the UK is the equivalent of a US size 12. That being said, I think she could affort to lose 20lb or so. I don't like the stick thin look but for a beauty queen, she is a little overweight. For her height, she should probably be a UK14 (US 10) at most and would probably look better as a UK12 (US 8). I'm quite a bit shorter and I'd be happy at a UK12 but at her age I was a UK 10, which is a US 6. I was very curvy still at that size, not a stick figure at all. I think the US 4/2/0 sizes are too thin for most women, but a US12 is big for a young beauty queen.

Funny, I'm 5'8 and not even 5'10 like her and I weigh almost 200 lbs and in a size 16. My goal is a size 14 which my doctor supports. I am still overweight and on the obese side but I look fabulous. I would kill to be a US size 12. More power to her.

I wouldn't wear a bikini with that body. Mostly I just which I was happier with my body did look like that, since it wont look that way on the way back down. :Dancing_wub:

I can say that at 175 (she and I are about the same height) I was not that porky. So I guess it goes to show how much you need to factor in overall frame, how weight is carried etc.

That being said, if I looked like that at 175 on the way back down, I'd.... no, I can't even say I'd be happy then, because her height & that weight should put her in the "normal" BMI, and she looks more than a little overweight to me.

MariMaru, I see your point. I'm mad because I know that at 175 this time ont he way down, I'm going to look much worse than 175 on the way up. >

She's beautiful, very beautiful.

But she's not at a healthy weight for her height, she's about 84kg at 12 stone 8 which is at about a stone overweight. And I actually suspsect they're fibbing about her weight because she looks close to obese to me. I was about that height and weight in my teens and it was miserable, I was by far the biggest girl and I was bigger than most boys. But at 13 stone, I was nowhere near as um, rubenesque as she is, I had much less fat on my stomach, it was much flatter than that and her thighs are very meaty. I looked a lot more athletic. Different body types, sure, but I suspect that's not her real weight, I think she's probably closer to 14 or 15 stone to be honest.

I've never thought that being fat means you cant be beautiful. Her body is womanly and lovely. But how she looks in a photo and how that bikini would look in real life is two different things too - I would think she'd be falling out of it if she actually tried to wear it!

But my personal opinion is that she's fat, not curvy. And I would worry that to be that size at 17 means she's going to become obese as an adult. She's healthy now becuase she's got youth on her side, she probably wont stay that way. She definitely fits the norm these days though and I agree with Chickie that that's why so many people think a normal BMI looks too skinny.

Lets not kid ourselves though, its different when you've been morbidly obese and you get down to that weight, but as a teen you dont reach a high weight like that without overeating and eating the wrong foods and being underactive, no matter what she says about her habits.

Good on her for getting out there, showing that ALL women can be beautiful. But I think for the media to promote her has healthy is all wrong, its as damaging as teaching young girls that only thin is beautiful. That girl is well and truly overweight!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
