I need your guys' help.

I have some questions.

Did all of your surgeons specialize in dealing with massive amounts of weight loss?

Did anyone have a Belt Lipectomy?

In a hospital? How long did you stay in the hospital? Recovery time?

I went on a consult with a surgeon that doesn't require his patients to be at a certain weight. He says that our bodies with only get to a certain weight and this excess tissue will affect our BMR and we won't drop any lower. That our bodies are in "shock" like we have been in an accident and we won't lose.

I just was wondering if anyone else had been told the same thing?

And what was the cost of your belt lipectomy and medial thigh?

I am completely overwhelmed with the information he gave me because it seems to go against what I have seen here on this site. Most people I have seen get surgery were at or very close to goal.

Thanks

well you are only 21 lbs to goal - that seems pretty close to me. Maybe he meant that at this point you are close enough.

I am 25 lbs from goal and going in for an extended Tummy Tuck and thigh lift 4/21.

Good luck with your PS, Julie. Also, thanks for sharing your b/4 and after photos. You are a beautiful woman. I hope you will also share your PS progress. It is so helpful to those of us that are considering PS in the future. :bolt:

Well he is operating on my friend and she has 60 something to go but she has been stable for sometime.

Are you staying in the hospital? What is your recovery time? Is an extended Tummy Tuck the same as a belt lipectomy?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
