Audrician, are you glad you got the last fill? Do you think you will have to have some removed? The problems people have seem so scary to me, but I also feel I have to get another fill to use my band properly. Anyway, thanks for the comment. I hope things go well for you.

I am certainly glad I got this fill. I am hoping that the more weight I lose the looser the band will get. There have been several days when I thought I just want to eat and I am going to get an unfill. I was so hungry (head hunger) I just wanted to eat some fried chicken and mashed potatoes. I made it through it and I feel some sense of accomplishment. Fighting the head hunger is so hard. As far as the band tightness, I can really tell a difference this weekend. I was able to eat 4 oz piece of white fish a little rice today along with 3 cherry tomatoes. Nothing got stuck but I was full up to my throat! I burp a lot more, it is like when you burp, the food passes through. It feels so weird. It is not nearly as painful to eat as the last 3 weeks have been. I took a few sips of Sprite to help me burp more. It is so gross but burping relieves the pressure in my chest. I am down to 160 today, need to update my ticker again. I have lost 10 lbs since this 2nd fill. It has not been easy dealing with all of the pain and sliming but I am getting used to chewing properly and slowing down to a snails pace when I eat. It is so hard to change lifetime habits of eating really fast and swallowing food without chewing it up really well. You have to really be mentally prepared for when you do get good restriction, it is definately hard when you are using food for nourishment, not pleasure.

Hello everyone. I had my surgery on March 26th and had my 1st fill April 22nd. I could tell immediately that I had restriction. I just hope it will last a while. I have lost 4lbs sense the fill 2 days ago. I had 3 ml in my band and they added 1.5 which brought it to 4.5 in a 10ml band.:biggrin2::biggrin2:

I am so thank ful for this thread and this site. I just got my first fill last week. I was so depressed becaused I did not feel the restriction I had hoped for. They put in 2.6cc's. I was begging for more. I am a self payer and had my surgery in Mexico. It cost a lot of money for me to go back just for a fill. I wanted to go back for my first fill at least. Now that I have spent the last hour reading all of the threads, I feel so much better. I am going to call Fill Center USA to schedule my next fill. I hope I can get a good one so that I can get restricted. Thank you all!!!!!!!

I too had my first fill a couple weeks ago. I notice no change either. She never told me how much I got either. I go back in about 4 weeks. I am just worried to call them and seem like a pain in the butt. But maybe i should. Just maybe move up the apt a little. The only thing I notice with this band is when i eat chicken it clumps up if I eat to fast. All the rest of the food no problems. Which mainly I am working on my head to stop eating and not the band.

I had my first fill about two weeks ago -- 3cc in a 10cc (APS) band -- and also feel no restriction. When drinking Water directly afterward and before I left the office, I could feel the liquid going down, but it became apparent after four days on a modified diet (two days liquid/two days pureed) that there was no restriction. In fact, I spent much of yesterday on the prowl for food, lol!

I wonder how much of a fill remains in the tubing? It must be a decent amount.

I had the same problem as you. I needed 7.5 cc's to feel any restriction at all. I was very frustrated, because my doctor is extremely conservative with her fills. I started with 1.5 cc's for my first, second and third fills. When I went in for the fourth one, I was about to have a nervous breakdown because I could still eat almost as much as pre-surgery. I begged and he gave me 2 ccs. It wasn't until my 5th fill, 7.5 ccs that I understood what that elusive restriction felt like - I was starting to think I was the first lap band patient who would never reach restriction! I feel your pain! I understand how difficult this is, believe me. But in the long run there are a lot of really good reasons for slowly reaching restriction. It gives you time to adjust to each new level of fill. Instead of waking up one morning totally restricted you have time to practice! Once I hit my sweet spot I really started losing weight nicely and I really feel that at the end of two years it isn't going to matter if I lost the weight in 8 months or 16, I am going to reach my goal! So try to be patient! I know it's hard! And, in case you are feeling like I was - you WILL get restriction and you WILL NOT be able to eat as much as your husband, I promise!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
