Pain in the left lower side of abdomen

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if anyone ever had pain in the left lower side I was banded on 2/9/05 and now I get this pain after I go to the bathroom,it usually does not bother me when I am sitting down but it feels like a really bad cramp when I am walking. I am going to the doctor tomorrow afternoon . I was just wondering if anyone else ever had this problem.

YUP been there done that. I am almost a year out and I still get that pain. I think it is the port area actually. IT can also be gas as well. But to be on the safe side it is always good to ask your doc about it. I usually do a heating pad and take some Tylenol. If I move that area too much or do too many strenuous ab crunches it get aggravated.

I did have a pain in that area shortly after surgery. But it felt more like a ripped stitch and was very painful. No one seemed to know what it was, including my doctor. All of my vitals were normal and I had no pain when eating. I had to "baby" it for a while but it seems to have healed up, mostly. I sometimes feel slight pain there. I was banded on 1-3-05.

Paco, I was having a lot of lower ab pains too. I was unfilled for several months, a barium swallow showed all was well. Finally had an upper and lower endoscope done. No band problems, just irritable bowel syndrome (a problem I had pre-band). You might try Gas-X and see if that helps. We have several feet of intestines for food to work it's way through.

I had the pain and I still have it from time to time and I am 11 months post op. I actually gas trapped in my tubing or around my port area. I had it so bad the other day, then passed soem gas and it was better. It feels like I have a sideache from running too much, but as I said it comes and goes , my Dr. said it is normal and most likely trapped gas. I tend to believe him since I have been paying real close attention to when I get the pain and when it goes away.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
