Mac glad you're doing well and losing weight!

Plain is always on rampages isn't he? lol

Here's something he can have a rampage about. This thread made me giggle

"Floater" Enigma (TMI Warning)

GROSS!

You know, everyone slam dunks Paul (OP of that thread) but truth is, while he does tend to yank a few chains he is probably the ONLY honest person there about DS. He starts these threads on purpose, to yank chains and to tell the truth about what the procedure can cause.

Catching up...I've been away far too long!:lol:

Joy - DS is duodenal switch - it's a type of WLS, but I'm not sure about the specifics. After reading through some of the threads on OH, I don't WANT to know any more - sheesh!

My new name is Cheesey Dippin Dunkin - and TrueDiva, we are sistas! :w00t:

I  this thread...I come here to laugh about the inappropriate posts - ya'll keep 'em comin!

Thank u for the kind translation!...I have broadened my vocabulary!........I don't know WHAT they switch, but it sure does not have a good outcome.......the name even SOUNDS nasty!

:) Joy

I'm not going to start a whole new thread for this so I'm just going to post it here. Since we are talking about doing stupid things, it's appropriate.

I did a really stupid thing. ;o)

I have been craving Gummy bears lately, strange since I don't even like them usually. I keep them in a baggy in the frig.

So yesterday I was chomping away on my gummy bears, eating a LOT of them and it dawned on me that these were different colors and shapes than my baggy of grape gummy bears.

Oye veh... they were my Flinstones gummy bears Vitamins.

I'm such an idiot. I do believe I got plenty of Vitamins in yesterday. ;o)

still subscribed to this thread & can't believe how many pages....

so , my neighbor (dog walking buddy) is getting a revision to the DS:scared2:

she has gained half of the 150+lbs she lost w/her rny 3 yrs ago & is just miserable. when she told me in july i told her to go to OH and read up on it and see what it entails. she LOVED the idea of the surgery because she has zero desire to change her eating habits.

she thinks i'm nuts being disciplined - but i also didn't do the junk food much; just Portion Control was my issue.

i told her if she had serious gas while walking, she lost a partner her dogs might disown her...:)

ROFL, Lulu! She thinks you're crazy for being disciplined?? Isn't that what we're "supposed" to do??

One of my gf's had RNY in 2004 or 2005 and has been putting on some weight. I'd bet she's put on 30-40 lbs. I guess she got her a man and doing that happy eating. She lost all her weight without doing any exercise so I guess that doesn't help.

LJM - I keep meaning to tell you how much I like your error signature. I had to double check that I understood it but AMEN!!!

She may blame it on the dogs.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
