Kelly, the 10 days I spent trying to keep my fill and pbd all the time, my chest ached really bad. It felt like the muscles around that area had been strained or bruised. It's all good now, I just had a huge salad, no problems, not even a tiny bit of uncomfortable. I want my restriction back before I gain.

Hey! I just got back from a barium swallow, everything looks fine...no slippage or obstruction; just really tight. The radiologist said he was guessing that my opening was about 1 mm. So, I am just very tight. I drank 6 oz of hot cocoa and I am praying that I keep it down! I am at 1.4 cc's now!

I'm so happy for you, I know how you feel, been there, done that. I am so glad that everything has worked out. I bought some really nice tea's and they are so delicious, I like chamomile at night, helps me relax. You have to relax and let your body recover from your nightmare. Keep us posted.

You must be super swollen. 2 weeks ago you were at 1.4 cc's and were loosygoosy! Now, 1.4cc's is nearly closed tight... go figure!

Glad everything looked good. Boy, you must have some pull around there - to get a barium sallow done so fast!

you have the same symptons my husband had before we realized his band slipped. Acid reflux, not being able to get liquids down etc. When you had your unfill, did they exam the band (ultrasound)? Did you tell him about your symptoms?

Hi Kelly. You're doing great. My fluro showed the same as yours. No damage, just very swollen & tight. Even though I had my unfill on Monday, I'm still only up to oatmeal & can't even eat that much. I don't really get full, just kind of "put off" eating cause I was so swollen. Who ever would have thought I wouldn't want to stuff my face not being filled?

I'm getting a little put back on Monday, I'll let you know how that goes.

Take care,

Karen

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
