I live not too far from Wausau, WI and am scheduled to be banded by Dr. Calvin Selwyn out of Stevens Point on 26 March 2008 - this Wednesday, which can't get here fast enough! I've been trolling this board shamelessly for a while and thought that it was finally time to put my foot out. I look forward to continuing to share everyone's experiences!

I grew up around Milwaukee - in Sussex. I miss the area usually, but this winter I think I'm glad I'm up here as we actually got less snow!

Good luck with your fill!

From Baraboo here///10 minutes from the Dells

It's great to see other Wisconsinites here; we seem to be under-represented! Good luck with your band, wherever you are in the process!

I had my surgery in Mexico and actually went back there for my fill - it was cheaper than the doctor here. Dr. Chua in Milwaukee charges $300 for the initial consultation then $300 for each fill - each fill is only 1cc.

I went back to Mexico and had 5cc's put into my band.

I live in Wausau, WI. I am meeting with Dr. Calvin Selwyn on April 22, 2008 for my first consult. Hoping to be banded before the end of summer. I am a RN and used to work for Ministry Health, heard many great things about Dr. Calvin Selwyn, my girlfriend just got banded from Dr Selwyn 6 week ago, and had her first fill last week. It is good to see other people on here from Wisconsin. I will keep everyone posted to how the journey is going. Just saw the shrink last week

Hi....

I love Marshfield Clinic - my GP's through them and, whenever possible, I head there rather than going through Aspirus or heading down to Point to go through Ministry.

Best of luck with your journey!

I actually live in Kronenwetter - it's good to see other people in the area!

Dr. Selwyn definitely rocks. He's down-to-earth and makes sure that everyone has realistic expectations, and explains everything really well. His team is awesome, too; everyone I've talked to has been super nice and helpful. Best of luck with it all!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
