Actitrainer ....Where'd it go????

Recommended Posts

OK, I did some research and decided on purchasing an Actitrainer. I love the data I'm getting from it, but at $200 plus, I'm terrified I'm going to lose it. I was walking yesterday and the device (in the holster) snapped off of my waistband! Luckily I heard it hitthe ground, or it would have been gone.....gone... gone! Do any of you have any advice about how to keep it secure? The directions say that the best results come from wearing on the waist, so I don't want to use the armband accessory. Any information would be really appreciated. :confused2:

I usually do mine on the ankle...with the little velcro thingy. I have noticed that I can accidentally remove it if I brush my leg against something... but that has happened at home. I am thinking of going back to the waist.

I have had great results with the Actitrainer customer service, so you might try contacting them. :cursing:

Thanks fab! Honestly, I decided to return it and get a bodybugg (I haven't done it yet tho....). I read on their site there is a 15% restocking fee for the Actitrainer!!! I did call the company and they weren't much help. I'm surprised that they had not heard that complaint too often from others. I figured that it hurts to pay a restocking fee but it would kill me if I lost it and was just out of luck and $200 bucks!

Angel - I had mine pop off my waistband and get run over, but I only ran into this problem when I was wearing pants that were too big for me. Before that, a belt and proper-fitting pants kept it in place. I had it for easily 3 months. It only started the popping off thing when the pants were getting to the point where the waistband puckered when I tightened the belt.

So, yeah...I'm out $200. But why couldn't you wear the AT on your arm like the BodyBugg? SURE, it says it is "best" on the waist, but I'd rather wear it on the arm and have it be more secure.

Steph, sorry to hear about your actirainer. Reading your preivous posts was one of the reasons I decided to get it. I ended up buying a "Bungee" saftey strap that works pretty well. It's popped off my pants a few times and the strap kept it with me.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Huh...what a good idea. Wish I had known about this before. Didn't realize it would be an issue. But I'll tell you - I was almost in tears trying to figure out where the heck it went. LOL It was like a punch in the chest when I picked it up and the display was all cracked. ;) Funny though - it still recorded data. LOL

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
