Hi Yaz,

I've been following your thread and wanted to know how you're doing now. Did you grow to love your band or are you still hoping to get it out?

I hope all is well.

Hello, well I'm not has depressed now as I was a week ago but mainly its because I'm eating real foods. I'm supposed to be on the mushy stage but I'm not I've eaten any and all foods BUT in moderation. I guess I'll keep it in for now but won't have any fills for now.

Yeah! I'm so glad to hear that things are looking up for you. The liquid faze of this diet is murder. I get so grumpy when I'm on it that now, when I get a fill, I warn my family that they won't want to be around me for the 2 days of liquids that follow. LOL

Hang in there Yaz, I think you'll grow to love your little friend.

That seems like a reasonable decision for the time being. that way you have time to adjust to the changes of the band.

Good decision. If you never fill it it wont really be like you have one at all, then if you ever decide to use it you can get a few fills and see if you like that. Once you see what a great tool it can be and how easy they are to have you will be glad you have it. Just takes time. The way you felt in the beginning is probably more common than most realize.

Yaz. Are you still out there? How is life with the band? Are you adjusting? My surgery is next Monday and I'm nervous but would love to know how you're doing.

Yeah I'm still here :Dancing_biggrin:.....I'm doing better. I had my first fill on April 15 but I still have no restriction so I'm eating normal. :glare:

It took me 3 fills to get restriction, but I'm finally there. I was afraid that I was going to lose my restriction this time (I had my fill a week and a half ago) and then Sat. I had my first stuck problem. I'm a little stressed out right now, my daughter is graduating college tomorrow and in the process of buying a house and it wasn't until my back started hurting too that I figured out this all may be contributing to my extra tightness.

I'm limping along on liquids and mushies, hoping I won't need an unfil, but I'm not making a decision for another week or so.

Hope all's going well with you!

Hello Yaz, I was just wondering how you're feeling about your band now, or if you even still have it. I see that you haven't posted on here in a while. I'm going to be getting mine within a month and a half and am really researching as much as I can. So far, I'm thinking the hardest part will be the 2 week pre op diet and the couple of weeks after...Just wondering how you feel now:)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
