Anyone else a closet Weight Watcher?????

Recommended Posts

I just started doing weight watchers. A friend of mine is a receptionist for them, and she got the startup pack for me since the only meetings available to me in my area are 30 miles from home, and 60 miles from where I work, so meetings just don't work for me, and I think their website is about useless. I did the at-home thing for awhile, and hated it.

I do, however, do pretty well on WW when I'm being careful and counting my points, so I'm just doing it on my own, without meetings. I already see a nutritionist every 3 months when I have my diabetes and cholesterol labs done, so other than the weekly weigh in, I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything.

Besides, there are several online forums for WW support, so I'll go there when I need advice. Or I can call my friend.

Juliegeraci, funny I save my extra points for wine too, so far it's still working for me.

It's good because I have some control. I stop eating/drinking when the points are gone.

I would love to get within 10 pounds of my goal by the end of the summer and WW should help.

I won't tell the leader let alone anyone else there. My mom, sister, husband and best friend are the only ones that know. I never even told my kids. They are 10 and 14 now and I thought they were too young 2 1/2 years ago and now it doesn't seem to matter.

I think that the meetings will help me because no mater what, support for frustrating times, is support, banded or not. I happen to have a tool, that when working properly, will just help me a bit.

I am also a lifetime WW member- i probably should start going again but meetings are so tough for me in my job. as far as being banded- hey people have different genetics and different hunger levels and different sized stomachs. mine happens to have a band around it. big dealio! i still have yet to feel restriction- I ate a bunch of gooey pizza two weeks ago with nary an uncomfortable twinge except the agita i felt for the next 72 hours worrying that i stretched my pouch.

My WW leader is really really nice. She mentioned to me how good I looked. I was down about 65-70 lbs so I just told her I had the surgery. She was quite nice about it. It will be interesting when I get to Lifetime. I am not sure if I'm going to tell the whole story or not. I use to weigh 320 lbs and when I get to goal I'll be at 185. Julie

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
