I have a 10cc band a total of 4 cc in the band my last fill was 2/11/2008. I was eating some chicken and potato skins earlier this week and it got stuck and I know why. Now my question every since then have only been able to eat very little and I get a lump in my throat. It goes away I slime or PB it just goes away on its own. Is it possible I am having a delayed fill reaction. I have read that some times it takes awhile for the fill to kick in. I am scheduled for another fill on the 27th of this month, just wording if I should cancel and reschedule.

Any help would be nice.

Hmmmm...... I don't see a problem.

It sounds like you have achieved restriction. Now let's see if that is enough to see the number on the scales go down.

If it does, if it were me I wouldn't get another fill...you doctor may not even give you one since it's working. And if it's not broke, don't fix it.

But if you are not losing weight, I would get a fill. Your doc would give you just a tad for a tad bit more restriction.

Slime is your friend. That lump in your throat is your friend. Those are signals to STOP eating.

Good luck and keep us posted!

I'm having the same symptoms- the lump in my throat and the feeling of fullness (to the point of discompfort) and wanting to throw up- even though I don't. You mention that this is good... I had a band fill about 2 weeks ago and just over the weekend now I start to fill this.. is it a delayed reaction to the fill? So maybe I am full after a couple of bites?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
