so i posted a few times but now im worried i wont be aproved.. im 5'6 about 225 lbs.. im not sure what my ACTUAL bmi is but online its about 36....... i dont have diabetes or sleep apnea or any of those things really........ however i have been seeing a psychologist for the past year about my weight problems, i was ALWAYS overweight my whole life, and i finally kicked my ass into shape (pardon my language) and lost 100lbs on my own 3 years ago, and as soon as i hit my goal i just went into a depression and gained it ALL back plus more. i started getting bad anxiety attacks and coudlnt breathe, and was put on zoloft....... now anytime i eat which is all the time i get horrible breathing problems and im pretty sure its from anxiety.... i cant get on a diet and stick to it, ontop of that i think the Zoloft is fighting agasint my weight loss b/c once i was put on that is when i started gaining alot of weight.......

now...

since im not like i said morbidly obese, has anyone had this issue before... would a letter from a psychiatrist/psychologist be safice or a added push with the insurance company for aproval that its altering my life and making me have bad thoughts blah blah blah????????

Do you know if you have high blood pressure or high cholesterol? Have you been tested for sleep apnea?

Have someone re-measure your height, sometimes we are not the height we THINK we are.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
