Hi! The port area is was really the only place where I have had any pain. If it is a constant pain, I would call your doc. Do you think that maybe you pulled it? I remember right after surgery I was feeling around and I pushed on the port and the pain was very, very bad!! I am 3 wks post op now and no pain at all. Hang in there you should be feeling a little better all the time.

I havent really dont anything to pull it i dont think. Just bend over at work and home when i have to. Its not a constant pain...its very sharp when I turn a cetain way or sit a certain way or go over bumbs while driving. How easy is it do you think to rip your port?

Hey Am - same issue - I was banded 3/4 and exact description. I called my doc (good suggestion) and it sounds normal. Body adjusting, and such. My nurse said as long as I don't have shortness of breath (which I don't - it hurts if I breath deeply too fast but not if it is planned) then I am ok.

Hi, my port site is more sore now then it was after surgery. You may have turned or something when you were sleeping and tugged a little at the stitches holding it. That's what my Dr. told me at least. He told me to look for bright red skin and fever....then there is a problem.

I know what you mean about the sharp pains...both my mom and I had those. Not constantly, but sometimes I would feel a stabbing pain. When ever I turn or bend it hurts/stings, but the pain is subsiding more everyday, and I can move more everyday (3 weeks since banding). I noticed it more once I ran out of pain pills, but really, our bodies are adjusting, scar tissue is forming, healing is happening...it sounds like the same normal stuff we've been feeling! But - if you are concerned definately see your Dr. to put your mind at ease!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
