I am venturing out to work tomorrow for a meeting that is 1 hour long. That is about all I think I can handle. I actually work part time as a researcher and can make my own hours. I am basically a SAHM with 2 boys. I don't think I could go to work for a full day tomorrow...I would type up the sub plans and give yourself a rest! Also I was told no bra with underwire for a while...I am wearing a very stretchy & cozy sports bra, my one incision is right on my bra line...ouch!

I think I might work a 1/2 day. I am waiting for my principal to cal me now. I don't wear underwire but I am still having problems. I can't just go out and buy any old bra. I am a 44J and have to have them special made. If I could handle it for 1/2 day I think I will be okay. Good luck to all tomorrow.

hahaha - i second that!

Lise, I'm following your journey! We were banded about the same time, and have lost about the same amount of weight so far.

Best to you!!

Yeahhh - a band-twin! Are you going through mushy madness, as well...wanting to eat everything you see? I am so hungry now I am about to call my dr and see if I can convince him to fill me early...or tell him that I will consider cheesecake "mushy" and eat it morning noon and night!

I saw my dr on Thursday and pretty much threatened to eat the neighbor's toddler...she didn't move my fill appointment up! haha!

I had my first band for almost 5 years, but when it slipped I gained back about 30 pounds b/c I had ZERO restriction. I HATE not being restricted right now! It had become such a way of life for me, and I miss, miss, miss it! I don't want to re-gain these few pounds I've lost so far....but I've been down this road before, and I KNOW I will probably gain some back before my first fill.

I was just looking at the calendar....my first fill is on Apr 10. No way on this planet will I make it that long!

Ugh - mine is April 1 and there is NO way I'm going to make it that long! I feel your pain...that is for sure! All I can think about is what we have in the house that is semi-mushy friendly!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
