I got rejected today but it was what we were expecting. Humana is for sure making me do the 6 month diet plan. I was not upset with the fact that I can't do anything about it but diet. I actually started about two weeks ago and has been going well so far. I am supposed to get all my labs and stress test done once I get to the 5th month so we should be fairly close to ready on the 6th month. My fear is that after all this, I will get rejected again. I am upset that my deer season is now in out the door but I did it with a broken leg and arm, so maybe not.

I'm sorry to hear that you have to wait another 6 months. Why can't you go on with deer season, though? Depending on when you get your surgery, recovery is at max a few weeks...you could always move the surgery if recovery might interfere with the short time period for deer hunting. Do whatever you need to keep yourself happy!

To be honest, I love hunting and fishing but I want to live even more and I need the surgery. My six month date won't end until September 25. Once that is turned in I am still going to bet it will take 6 weeks. I would probably back it off another week to the week of Nov. 10th because of the hunting season and I have a trip to India scheduled that I need to go on. Hunting for me starts in September and last up to the end of December, but like I said, the surgery is more important. The best part of the season will be over by the time I have surgery anyway. It would be nice to have the surgery before the holidays anyway.

Hi Jigboy. I'm sorry to hear your insurance company is being a PITA & that they denied you. Don't let them deter you in any way!!! Keep fighting them until they approve you or until you can change to a company that will. I have UHC, and was approved & scheduled for surgery before I could blink!!! Seriously!!! It was fast. Anyway, you have us here on this website to get all the encouragement you need while you continue to battle them. Don't forget that o.k. That's what this is here for. Now I really can't say that I'm not glad Bambi may be safe for a little while longer, but Angelyco is exactly right, you must do what keeps you happy & you're right too about wanting to live more than you want to hunt. Priorities of food & excercise will be key in your life once you are banded (and you will be), so I'm glad to see you have that attitude...you will need it. Good luck with everything, and remember, don't let them get you down & keep on fighting.

P.S. By the way, I see we are the same age & have the same ticker, well almost the same ticker. Football fan are ya???? I live for the game!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
