Can anyone give me some suggestions. I have been banded 11 months and never had this problems except for the last month. I started taking benefiber thinking that will help but all it has done is made me have gas....

I struggle with this too. I tried eating three prunes per day and that helped for a few weeks. Then I had to have a colonoscopy which caused diarreah for 12 days! Then no poop for 8 days. I took stool softeners for three days before I could poop again. Yipes. I look forward to seeing other people's responses so that I can figure out what might work.

Same problem here. Prior to lap band...I was a once a day gal...in fact, my doctor thought that I had IBS because I was going all the time. Now...I'm LUCKY if I go once a week. I was told to increase my Fiber, but that hasn't really helped either. I used to have back pains from it, but those have decreased. I guess this is my new way of going...from once a day to once a week. I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one.

Shannon, I soooooooooo understand your problem. I was having a problem too, and since we can't use Metamucil with the band and Benefiber did nothing for me; I started eating Fiber One Cereal with raisins every morning and it corrected the problem right away. It has about 14 grams of fiber and it tastes good, too. Now that I have a good fill, the Cereal has staying power.

Good Luck

I can't take credit for this because someone else posted it a long time ago. Eating 10-12 raw almonds a day does the trick. Once I started eating them, I had no problems plus it's got some Protein. Of course, you need to make sure you stay hydrated as well... especially whenever you increase fiber intake.

I too had that problem until I tried a juice called Plumsmart Light. It is in the bottled juice section. It is 60 cals per serving but well worth it. i'll tell ya if that don't make you go nothing will. It tastes really good too. I hope this helps.

Arley, why can't we use Metamucial? I've been using it off and on with no side effects (that I know of anyway). Laura

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
