Will I have a lot of gas forever?

Recommended Posts

I have been reading a lot about gas after the lap-band. I am not a typically gassy person right now and I am wondering how bad the gas will be? Do you just have gas right after surgery or will I have a lot of gas all of time after being banded? Have you had gas issues out in public after banding? Just curious....:blushing:

Do you mean post-op gas (from the gas they pump you up with during surgery that's "in" your body, not to be confused with gas in the digestive tract resulting from digestive processes), or the latter?

I have WAY less gas problems since surgery than I had before. It just doesn't seem to be an issue. If I eat refried Beans, I'm probably gonna have gas. If I don't I probably won't!

I had gas pains for about 2-3 days but I didn't have unusual gas "coming out" if you know what I mean. I wish I had, I think I would have felt better. Eventually the pain went away.

I have been experiencing a lot of painful gas. I have been getting relief from mylanta but I still wish this weren't a side effect. I have been walking and that helps. Laying on my left side also helps. I am still 100% confident I made the right life choice. Just think about never having to ask for a seat belt extender on a plane ever again. That's what motivates me. I travel on business a lot!. Go ahead and get the procedure done.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
