Just moved, need a Dr. in MS, AL or FL who will adjust band.

I had my surgery in 2004 in Mexico. I've had no complications. I just had a baby and need to get adjusted. I need to find a Dr. who will perform my fill even though I had surgery elsewhere. Can anyone provide info.? The South Mississippi Surgical weight loss center will for $1500 for one year of treatment, but that's a little steep.:confused2:

I don't know my doctor's plans for outside patients (if they take them, I mean), but he's in Anniston,AL which is south Alabama. It would be worth asking them, their office and the doc are wonderful and always available by phone for questions.

And they don't charge ridiculous amounts for fills.

Freeman & Company Bariatric Center is his website, contact is on there. Good luck

I live in South MS and am being banded in Mexico 2 weeks from today. I am also looking for someone to do my fills other than Dr. Avara..that price is crazy! Let me know if you find anyone. I have called all the way from Mobile to New Orleans with no luck.

I am planning on being banded by Dr. Ortiz april 7, carolyn w/ ortiz looked up a dr. lord in pensacola fl. she said he would do fills. I spoke to his office today, they didn't sound like they were too interested in doing it. one girl there said you had to have been banded a year before he would see you. Someone was supposed to call me back, but they haven't.

I seem to recall Dr. Lord mentioning at his seminar that he would not do fills for people who were banded in Mexico. Pensacola also has Baptist Hospital, which does WLS. In Santa Rosa County, which about 30-45 min east of Pensacola, there is a hospital there that does WLS--Santa Rosa Medical Center, I believe. You might call either of those places to ask about it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
