Did my band move? please help me out wit some advice!

Recommended Posts

hi everyone. i have a question...i have a band that holds up to 10cc's..and right now i have my band filled to 8.9cc's. when i had my band filled with less cc's, i was hungry still during meals but i had a regular size portion meal..and now i can eat a lot more than what i can. i can fit a whole 6inch hero from subway in my stomach. and before that i could only eat half. i don't know what is going on. i went to go see my doctor today but she told me that i don't need a fill cause i lost 7 1/2lbs in a month. so she didn't give me a fill, but i told her that i was still hungry but she said that i am doing good and to just hold off for another fill in 3 weeks. i don't think my band slipped but i think it moved like its not on all the way that its not properly on. can this happen? to me it doesn't make any sense that i can eat a lot with 8.9cc's in my 10cc band. is this normal? i feel like calling up my doctor and asking her if i can get an esogram done ..lol i dunno how to spell it... so i can make sure everything is ok with my band. i am really nervous about this. i hope nothing is wrong. did or does anyone have the same problem? please give me some advice. thanks everyone and thanks for taking the time to read my thread. take care.

Everyone needs a different amount to feel restriction. A friend of mine with a 10cc band insists on at least 9.5cc of fill, because anything less and she doesn't feel restriction. Others have restriction with a lot less. Am I understanding your question correctly?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
