Nov. Nymphs "Spring into Weight Loss" Challenge Week #4

Recommended Posts

I eat Pasta if it's in a frozen dinner, like lean cuisine, becasue the whole meal is calorie controlled anyway.

I am not having trouble getting stuck. I do have to slow down to eat and I can still eat an apple with the skin, but it takes me at least 20 mins to eat it. I can still eat chicken, shrimp, haven't tried beef since last fill, but it was fine before that.

I had four shrimp, a salmon cake and a small salad for dinner. I am definitely still full 1.75 hours later. I seem to be more full after dinner than after b'fast, but b'fast was Cereal, ( high Protein Kashi) so maybe it's just the softer texture of Cereal that doesn't keep me full as long.

I guess I'm just still trying to figure things out now that I do have some restriction. But I'm eating more than 1/2 c of food. I'm ok with that. My calories are around 1000 to 1200 per day.

Hi Shortgal, I'm thinking I'm definitely noy there yet. I don't want to be PBing but I want to notice that I'm eating too much long before it happens.

I get stuck sometimes but can't believe how much I can still eat. I went to lunch on Friday and ordered chilli prawn Pasta (yum) and was able to eat the whole lot...

Wow, am so envious:drool:, I love pasta my Doctor say no pasta for six months.

Marie-Gabrielle

Hi Marie, I was never given such strick guidelines, only the first 4-6 weeks. I was told to try anything and everything to see what I can or can't take down. I was told that eventually I will be on 1,000 cals a day, eating 3 cup size meals. Still waiting for that to kick in.

Yes, Join our November group. this specfic challenge is almost over, tho. Two weeks left. At the beginning of the challenge we set a goal to lose over a set time frame and then we check in each week.

This challenge was from Valentines Day to the first day of Spring. I'm sure someone will start a new challenge when this one is over.

Just watch our Nov 07 group threads for a new one.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
