hi wannabe my surgery went well. The operation took 50 mins and was in the recovery about an hour. The nurses were all nice. I didnt care for the one male nurse when it was time for me to go home he took me to the door and left, I stood there me stand there alone till my son went for the car. Then I walked down the rainy steps alone. Im sure he was not allowed to do that.

I am one week post op today. My belly has very little pain i sleep on my belly. Im still having gas pains in my shoulder I wish that would go away. Im moody and grouchy. I lost 22 pounds in the past 3 weeks.

Hi Rhonda - I hope you're feeling better. Take gasx regularly. That was stinky of the nurse to just leave you like that. Did you ever meet Nate, he was Dr Marleys assistant before Jackie. He took me down and pushed me right out to the car. :sneaky: what a sweetie he is. I really liked him.

WTG on the 22 lbs down! wow thats great! You've been doing so good all along, I'm really proud of you.

I'm from Windber and also having my surgery by Dr. Marley on April 7th. I am on the preop diet now and I am a bit hungry but I think I am more sick from the milk mixed with the carnation instant Breakfast so I went and bought some of the slimfast shakes and we will see how that goes. Getting a bit nervous as surgery date gets closer. And I agree with you guys on Marley and his staff they are wonderful. He even gets my weird sense of humor hee hee. Jackie is the bomb and wrote such sweet love letters to my insurance company that my surgery was approved with no problems Love that girl. Good luck to everyone.

Hi darlene!

I'm in Altoona, and had my band done over in pittsburgh at MaGee Women's hospital. There fill doc there is great! I call him Bill the fill guy! hahaha... You could always check in with him to see if he does any fills that arent done in their hospital. I don't know how they handle that.

If you'd like the number, drop me a line and let me know. I dont know of any groups or such here in Altoona. I'm not even sure what doctor's do this proceedure here.

Good luck!

Dawn

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
