Confession Time - Very long

Recommended Posts

Denise,

I applaud you for taking the first steps of taking back control of your life. We've all been ther with different circumstances but low never the less. My suggestion is to find a consulor. If you have health insurance, call them and ask for an in network referral to keep the costs down.

Each area seems to be a monumental life stress in intself. By talking and creating a to do list a daily action plan to help each area you will find after a few weeks you are gaining more and more control.

I too hit very rough times with stress coming in all directions a few years back and I found a professional to help me crisis manage. Just for 6 weeks or so I recall.

My to do lists incuded:

10 minute self pity time

10 take a walk

xxxxx time working on info gathering for my sons disability

xxxxx time for house work

xxxxxx time thinking and stratergizing about family issues

etc

etc.

But every night I took off the master llist things I could do to accomplish my ultimate goal in bit size pieces. I really feel like I accomplished something if I can cross it off a list. I was told not to think of it all al the same time - crushing and not productive.

I wish you well on your journey. The other girls are sooooooooooooooooooooo much more experienced at the weight loss band thing - I'm just starting that journey.

((((((( HUGS))))))))))

Correction the other people. Sorry didn't mean to leave off the men in the crowd in my last post.

Again, thanks to all. I'd forgotten how easy it is to look up things here as well. I went back to the "fills" forum and found lots of good information. I do think I haven't reached my "sweet spot" yet. And it's nice to know I'm not the only one who's fills seem to come and go either.

I'm making a mental list of all the wonderful things in my life, my grandson being first on the list, my band, my health, improvement in the health of my husband, my wonderful daughters. I have a lot to be thankful for. Problems that seem insurmountable aren't most of the time. Things will get better.

Now to call the doctor's office and schedule a fill and maybe an appointment with the counselor!

Hugs to everyone.

Denise: Laughter is the best medicine. Find something to smile about every day. Put sunshine pics on your fridge and thank God everyday for his gifts. I know pretty sappy but hey whatever works.

I think sometimes we focus too much on the negative aspects of our lives cause they seem so heavy. When usually all we gotta to is lift it up and WOW how light we feel after that.

SMILE we use the most facial muscles when we do that. LOL!!!:)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
