Sooo, yeah. Bad week.

Recommended Posts

Remember that allergic reaction I had? Well, it apparently triggered a massive sinus and ear infection that laid me out for several days. I even had to have my mom come and pick me up in Kentucky and drive me home so that I could go see my regular doctor because it wasn't safe for me to drive. I nearly passed out a couple of times in the shower because of my sinuses and I was very wobbly because of my ears. And on top of all that, I severely burned the roof of my mouth the day after my allergic reaction (couldn't feel it at the time because of the swelling) and now have massive, thick blisters. Shitty week, all around. I had to get blood drawn yesterday to do a rast test to see if I'm allergic to wheat, milk components, or soy. And I got the bad blood tech, too, that always hurts my arm. :cursing:

Oh good grief!!! Feel better soon!! I too have had the sinus crud---and I broke a tooth on top of mine, and the damned oral surgeons office refuses to call me back!! The only one in town who accepts my insurance of course!!!!

Deep breath.....this too shall pass!!!!!

Sorry you are having a rough time. I know all about the ear infections. I've been battling one for a few days and it's not getting much better. I actually get them fairly often and thank goodness, this one hasn't gotten as bad as most of my others. I think I may have caught it early enough. Now my throat is getting sore too! My niece and nephew had strep throat and I was around both of them. I hope it's just ear or sinus drainage and not strep throat. I feel you pain, it hasn't been the best week for me either. Hope you feel better soon!

Oh man, that was definitely a rough week, I'm sorry, and I hope you get well very soon, keep us posted.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
