Any other slow losers?

Recommended Posts

Well... I need to go to the no losers unite forum because my lapband hates me. I've only lost 10 lbs since August. Sad.... I'm so embarresed to face my husband who I BEGGED to alone me to put us into debt so that I could have this surgery and here I am not losing a thing.

How much restriction would you say you have? How much can you eat in a single serving? Are you staying away from sweets?

I would add to those questions... are you tracking daily calories and Protein?

If you do not yet have good restriction of your band from fills, then you need to "diet" until you get restriction.

If you do have restriction, then you are eating around the band... meaning slider foods that go down easily or high calorie drinks or high carb foods. If you have restriction, you need to eat solid Protein that keeps your pouch full.

You have only had two fills, your last one was in November. That is probably your problem. Your band doesn't hate you, you just probably don't have it working to it's maximum benefit. I had surgery 10/26/07 and have had five fills. I have a 10cc band and am up to 7.5 ccs. It wasn't until this last,5th, fill that I felt the restriction I need to lose good amounts of weight. (I haven't updated my ticker but I am at 20.5-and I have lost 2.5 pounds in three days)Don't give up on the band until you are working it to its best use. Once you get filled to the right restriction, make sure you are following the 'lap band rules' (If you don't know what those are, I'd be happy to write back and fill you in) and I am quite sure you will start losing and be really happy. I see you had your surgery in Mexico, and I'm not sure where you live, so maybe it is a cost thing in getting fills. If that is the case, try to make the effort to get the money together to get filled adequately because I promise you that is what will probably make the difference for you. Hope this helps!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
