Hey everyone, thanks for the concern. I have not been doing well or eating properly so I am going to hold off on going to see Hoffman and having Fluid taken out. I gained 5 pounds! When I think of how hard it was to lose and how easy and quick to gain I am just sick. I can't wait for Easter to be over and the damn choclolate bunnys taken away and also for the nice weather so I can get out and work in the yard and bike ride. Hopefully this is a small setback. One thing is for sure - I will not buy larger clothes!!!!

Val, I wish I can say that.. I am going in on wednesday morning and this fill will be #5. I feel more restriction that I have before but not nearly enough to loose. We'll see what they say. Is anyone else going on the 15th ?

Have a good Easter.

Well I havent been on here in a fwe weeks. I went in for another fill 2 days ago. It had been 2 months since my last appt & I went up .5 lbs. I guess thats not bad but not good either. I dont know what my problem has been, its like that self-sabotoging part of me is coming back. I've been really bad about drinking with meals, not every time but a good majority of the time. So I get the lecture for that which I really needed. Its frustrating I was doing really good on SB & exercising before the surgery then everything went all haywire after the surgery & it threw me all off.

I really need to start reading this site more regularly it really does give you a lot of encouragement & remind you to stay on track. I'm trying not to get discouraged, I've lost about 24 lbs overall but its just stopped.

Since the fill I cannot get anything down. It has been extremely painful. I'm really not full but just after taking about 2-3 bites and chewing ALOT it still gets stuck. Any suggestions on things that may go down easier but are still higher in Protein? ? I really do not want to get any Fluid removed unless its an absolute last resort.

Thanks for letting me vent:)

Danielle

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
