I was banded on 10/17 - inamed 4cc band (I think)

I have about 2cc's in there - Last Friday they increased me from 1.8 - 2.0 -

I think I have lost about 46 lbs total, including the 15 before surgery.

Slow losing but that is one of the reasons I went with the band instead of the bypass - for slow loss.

As of 2 days ago, I can eat more than ever - weird. No sticking, not satisfied, I don't know what the heck is going on. I had been quite restricted prior to that.

Anyway, maybe I need another fill to get to where I need to be.

The biggest issue I have right now is that my nails are spliting and cracking and dry as heck. My hair is also drier than the usual dry...

Anyone else hve that issue and a resolution? Any thoughts.

B

I had my 1st fill on Wed and when I talked to the aftercare person she told me that if I didn't take in my 50-60g of Protein a day I would start seeing brital nails, Hair loss, saggy skin, etc. So are you getting enough protein? If not that might be your problem.

Are you tracking Protein intake, for the hair and nails?

Don't know why your restriction level would go down.

You've lost 34 pounds post op, I would consider that average and not really slow.

I thought I was getting enough Protein. I eat it and drink it, but maybe I better pay closer atention to it and add more each day.

I guess i thought I was losing a little slower than others but maybe just being hard on myself.

I am joining a "boot camp" group exercise class in my area starting on Monday so maybe that will get my metabolism going.

Another fill. More exercise. Additional Protein.< /p>

That is where I take myself starting today.

Thank you.

Just track your portien for a couple days and you'll know if you're getting enough.

If I have a day where I'm worried about getting enough in, I drink a glass Of the Isopure CLEAR. In 10 oz. I get 20 gms of Protein and only 80 calories.

Just had a glass for b'fast. Added bonus the Protein keeps you satisfied.

Perfect choice for that late afternon time, when we crave something.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
