  1. I guess i thought it was thick and might prove to be an issue. I am so nervous. Ugh!
  2. I am slated to start drinking the poison in an hour or so. I am worried that I wil not be able to drink it all since I have the band. Anyone having one since the band wil know what the above means. Anyone? Thanks. B
  3. sorry - I haven't been back here since before you posted. I take it at the Mt. Lebanon JCC.
  4. I thought I was getting enough Protein. I eat it and drink it, but maybe I better pay closer atention to it and add more each day. I guess i thought I was losing a little slower than others but maybe just being hard on myself. I am joining a "boot camp" group exercise class in my area starting on Monday so maybe that will get my metabolism going. Another fill. More exercise. Additional protein. That is where I take myself starting today. Thank you.
  5. I was banded on 10/17 - inamed 4cc band (I think) I have about 2cc's in there - Last Friday they increased me from 1.8 - 2.0 - I think I have lost about 46 lbs total, including the 15 before surgery. Slow losing but that is one of the reasons I went with the band instead of the bypass - for slow loss. As of 2 days ago, I can eat more than ever - weird. No sticking, not satisfied, I don't know what the heck is going on. I had been quite restricted prior to that. Anyway, maybe I need another fill to get to where I need to be. The biggest issue I have right now is that my nails are spliting and cracking and dry as heck. My hair is also drier than the usual dry... Anyone else hve that issue and a resolution? Any thoughts. B
  6. Of course I am a Steeler fan! Yes. Was just banded on the 17th.
  7. aaargh. so many questions. Gas. make it go away. Me:help:
  8. Good for you. Congratulations and good health wishes to you.
  9. Oh, hell no. Now that really is not me!
  10. Thank you. I am just so nervous...it is so not like me. Aaaargh. Must vomit...
  11. How about a show of support. It sort of feels like you have to be known or popular here to get responses. (Except for Donna, of course) I am as nervous as I can be, and the waiting is killing me. Stomach is just twitching and I have some fear of not waking up, getting an infection, etc. I've been waiting for a long time to do this and now that it is here, I am questioning the decision. :think:confused: I can't wait for it just to be over...
  12. Thanks, Donna. I appreciate the support. :-)
  13. I'm so nervous I could throw up.:faint: I've been reading here for weeks now, and keep finding something new every day. Insurance is paying (thank God) - 2 weeks off on medical leave @ work. They think it is a "female" surgery. Ugh...I hate to use that as an excuse but...I figure it is none of their business. Only my sister, my mother, my daughter and her boyfriend know. Not even my best friends. I'll tell them later if I feel compelled to, but I'd like to wait until I see how I do and feel and so on. I'm a relatively private person and don't want to be embarrassed at taking such a big leap only to have complications or be unsuccessful. Not that I am negative btw, just cautious. I feel ready though. This forum is cool. Support like this is only with others like yourself I guess. I'm in Pittsburgh. Dr. Courcoulas is the surgeon. Anyone know her? Of her? It is rumored that she is a rockin' doc. I still have some questions for you experienced ones though. What is this "stuck" thing really all about? Eating too much? Too fast? Not chewed thoroughly enough? Or all of those? Anyway...just putting it out there.
