I was banded on August 27th, 2007! I've lost 50 lbs and feel incredible!

It was the best choice I've ever made! If you have any questions feel free to email me! Susan

Hi Steph, I noticed you are from the Somerset area. I am from Rockwood, but live down by Uniontown now. Do you still live in Somerset? I met someone else from our area on here, small world!!! I got banded on August 18th, at West Penn.

Hi pgh3rivers, I am looking for someone that has been banded at Magee's Hospital and I am wondering how they are doing and were they happy with their Doctors? I am going there in the future and I am just interested in hearing about other bandsters experience there. Thanks Young At Heart

I have not been banded yet, but I am on month 5 of my 6 month Diet and Exercise program. Magee so far has been great. No issues that I know of and my Doctors appointment is next week for the first time. I will let you know my overall impressions from that later. They do both Bypass and Band so if you know going into this what you want and have done the research, it should not be an issue. I do recommend paying for there 6 month lifestyle classes and weigh-ins as it seems it will be worth it in the end. They seem to know their stuff and what it takes to get approved by insurance. Oh well, more later next week.

JudiM, I am in my 4th month of my 6 month diet for the band at Magee's. I am really scared and wondering of this is the right thing to be doing especially when I read some of the posts and the problems that people are having. What Dr. did your band and did you have any problems since being banded. Would love to hear from you of anyone that was banded at Magee's Hospital....Young At Heart

Hi! Just a little north of Pgh here in the burbs. I selected AGH-Banding April or May.

Hi guys,

I live in Murrysville, but work in the city every day (Greentree).

If the rest of this 6 mo process goes well, I should be banded in May, at the West Penn Bariatric Surgery Center, by Dr Urbandt. I really like him and his staff.

I started going there because I was going to have the surgery at Forbes Regional, but their office on the campus closed.

Since I'm in the city everyday, it doesn't make much difference. Forbes was closer to home.

Anyone else out there from the burgh going to be banded in May, or seeing Dr. Urbandt?
