Awesome job Roxie!!!! You should be so proud of yourself! I am close to onederland....just a few more pounds that don't seem like they want to come off. Hopefully soon I will be celebrating too!
  4. Hi Kristyn! OMG I am so sorry, I haven't logged on in a while and didn't see your message until today. I hope your surgery went well and please, email me back and let me know how you are doing! We are closer than you think! I work up here in Jamestown at Truck-Lite. It is always nice to have another lapband buddy around for support. I absolutely love Dr. Ali and I think you will too, I love my band and if I had to do it all over again, I absolutely would!

I hear you. My mom has two garbage bag's full of clothes for me, they are all 16's. I can fit into them and zip them but just can't wear them yet. Another 5-10lbs they will fit.....I need to drop some weight quickly so that I can get into them now.

I hear you denise... I was getting better until this past weekend. I finally broke down and treated myself to new pants last week. I thought it would help raise my spirits and maybe get me motivated to keep going, it worked, I bought a size 18, not 18W but 18. I was pretty happy about that! Wouldn't you know yesterday, as I am washing a whole load of work clothes including these pants, my drier caught fire and they are all ruined. I just can't win for losing. :purplebananna:

NJ, I have to vote for the dress on the right as well. Both are beautiful but in the one on the right your waist is soooooo tiny, It is very flattering on you!

Hi everyone, just thought I would check in and say hi. I don't know why but I am pretty bummed today. Ever have one of those days that you just feel blah and not pretty at all? I even got a compliment today on how good I look since I have lost some weight but it just rolled off my shoulder and I feel flat out 'ugly'. I am doing good so far today sticking on plan and I am going to curves in a few minutes but geez, I need something to pick my morale up.

I hear you there.....I am back in the habit of snacking constantly. I just dont' think about it at the time and will pick up a piece of candy here and there. I know that is why my loss is stalling out.

whats going on nj gal....how can we help?
  12. Everyone looks so wonderful! You are all such an inspiration! I haven't posted my pics in a while, I haven't noticed much of a change lately but I love that you guys share, so I should too! I know how much the pics help me keep going... I am almost 7 months out and am down 67lbs. I started at a tight size 24 and am in a lose 18 now. The best part....I have a waist again . Sorry for the lack of makeup with this latest pic....frankly I didn't care what I looked like when my friend snapped the pic this morning.

    Hey, guess what?

Good for all of you! I have been at curves now for almost a month and I really like it. It is completely up to you how much work you put into it....one word of caution though; don't be surprised if the scales don't move much at first. You will start to tone quickly but that scale won't move....it is very frustrating. In my experience, I have had more people tell me how different I look in the last few weeks but no scale results yet!

The evenings are killing me. I have awesome restriction right now but those snacks sure slide down easy every time. If this weather would just break up here, I am sure it would help.

    Slow Losers Unite!

Thanks Ann....I am bad about writing things down. I 'tally' them up on paper but I am not as tedious as I should be. I am really going to buckle down and focus to get that scale moving....I have to, I am really bummed out about it! I had my surgery August 20th 2007, so my weight loss is ok, I am down about 60 pounds but 20 of those were from before surgery so I am down 40 since surgery. I was hoping it would be a bit faster or at least more consistent. I really really want to be a solid size 16 by the time the weather breaks in the spring and right now I am in an 18.....just can't seem to get past that darn size. I can' t remember the last time I was smaller than an 18.

    Slow Losers Unite!

Hi Everyone....I need some support today. I am stuck....not losing a thing! I started at curves two weeks ago so I am trying to rationalize to myself that it is because I am 'toning' now and muscle weighs more than fat.....but come on! How do I get the scale moving again? I haven't lost anything in over a month....I am really getting discouraged. I have good restriction too, depends on the day but for the most part, I think I am just right. I am just really getting down on myself :blushing:

    Dry skin...

I actually had this conversation with another of my lapband friends because we are both itchy and dry. I agree you have to make sure you get some fat. She talked to our doctor and he said it is part of the hormonal changes going on due to the weight loss (plus she is around menopause age so that doesn't help, I am not however but am still really itchy!). I bought this bath salt made by Aveeno and it is working wonderfully. If you can't find that, I saw some made by Calgon and Vasolene (Sp?) that works good too. Be careful getting out of the tub though.....slippery

I have thought about doing the liquid thing for a few days again too...I just can't seem to stop snacking on crap food...GRRRRRR. I do have restriction again so that is good but it doesn't stop snacking. I am seriously considering duct taping my mouth shut

    Is it selfish?

I struggled with this question too. I have three very small children and am the main breadwinner in my home (I am married but...). I had no comorbidities and could exercise just fine....the problem, I didn't. And hadn't for years. I am sure you know what I am talking about. The main reason I decided on the surgery was because I had proven to myself time and time again that I could not do this on my own and I needed a tool to help me succeed so that I could be an even better mom to my kids down the road. The band does just that, it fit into my crazy lifestyle and has helped me succeed so far, hell I even found a way to fit exercising into my schedule, I never thought that would happen!

    CURVES-please share you experiences

I just joined last week as a matter of fact and I couldn't agree more with mamajava. It is totally up to you how hard you work yourself. Today, I was working my butt off and I walked out sweating up a storm. I think so far it has been an awesome way to get myself used to doing some type of exercise on a consistent level....I really like it. I agree that at some point down the road I will want something more intense but for now, I think this is perfect for someone trying to get motivated into exercising.

August Bandsters How are you Doing So Far

pizzi, I am going thru the same things you are....I got a fill on friday but my problem is old behaviors coming back. I am eating too much junk; a cookie here, a hershey kiss there....you know what I mean...grrrrr. I joined curves and really really like it so I am hoping that will help get things moving again in the right direction. I seemed to have stalled out for the time being.

    Slow Losers Unite!

Thanks for the encouraging words NJ girl. Your absolutely right. I get so caught up in everything going around me, I forget about me. I promised myself I would do something for me this weekend and I am.....it is all set up and everything. That has been one of the hardest things for me thru all this....finding a different way to release my stress other than eating. I can't believe how much stress eating I used to do. The band helps keep that in check to a certain degree but the rest is up to me. I will keep working on it.....

    Slow Losers Unite!

I need some support from you guys....and maybe need to vent a little to. Have you ever noticed when it seems like it rains it pours? Well it sucks for me right now. My home life is terrible, my marriage sucks, my kids are bouncing off the walls, I hate my job and have for a while now but can't find anything else comparable and now I have completely stalled out with my weight loss. I just had a fill 3 weeks ago and nothing...as a matter of fact I think I am up 1 or 2 pounds. I am a stress eater without a doubt and lately, it is all I can do to not shovel things into my mouth. I don't know what to do....I dont understand why I have virtually no restriction. I had awesome restriction in December, I thought I was finally at my sweet spot then just about over night it was gone. This sucks. He only gave me a small fill when I went a few weeks ago and I just knew as soon as I left that it wasn't enough. I was right. Now I feel like a failure at this.....please tell me I am not alone with feeling this way and someone tell me the obvious that things will get better. Right now I am just ready to give up
