Dropping a shoe size?

Recommended Posts

When I was pregnat and gain alot of weight, both times I changed a half a shoe size. It would make sence that your feet , without so much pressure on them would "adjust" back. Remember our feet have a bunch of small bones.

Yes, even our feet get fat.

A little off topic, but even our EYES get fat.

Two weeks after I had the band, I took my daughter in for her annual eye exam. I casually mentioned needing to schedule myself an appointment, and asked if I should wait a few months or so because I had just had the LapBand a few weeks prior.

He confirmed what I had heard through the grapevine that sometimes our sight will change after losing/or gaining weight. He said that fat accumulates behind our eyeballs, causing vision changes.

So, I am going to wait a few more months before scheduling a new appointment.

It makes sense to me, as I never needed glasses as a child or teen... but suddenly needed them when I got pregnant with my first child.

Wow, it sure sounds like I have something to look forward to! I went up a whole size in my weight gain, but because I loved my smaller shoes, I KEPT them!! Wha-hoo!!

Too funny! I went from a size 8 shoe to now a size 9. I am looking forward to going back to size 8. (It's funny because I have as many shoe sizes as dress sizes!)

Wow, didn't know about the eye thing! I hope my eyes improve a little!!

As far a cute shoes in big sizes, you all hit the nail on the head: Zappos.com!!! Actually, I don't order from the website because I work about 10 miles from the distribution center and their fab-o outlet store!

I'm doing the yard sale gig here in a couple of months and selling my giganto-shoes and then let the shopping commence!! :D

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
