I'm addicted to the Food Network!

Recommended Posts

Is anyone else addicted to it? I sit in aww as the chef's make all sorts of food I could never eat. I read cookbooks like they were smutty romance novels. I sat at my friends the other day and read her cookbooks during the Oscars. I'm addicted to food!!!! Remember how I said I am obsessive compulsive? I think I just figured out that this may be feeding my obesession. Ack!!!

Anyone else have any thoughts?

Megan

I watch it all the time, I especially like the 30 minute meals and Paula's Home Cooking! It really doesn't affect my eating, but does give me some different ideas on things to fix.

Megan I feel your pain. I used to watch the Cajun Gourmet all the time. Guarantee!!! Imagine a Cajun accent saying that word. I would salivate at the things he would prepare. Then I watched Julia Child. Then it was Emeril Lagasse. THen, Then THEN, name a chef.

OH Iron Chef is another one. They have an american version now. I used to love to watch the East Asian one where they cook with squid and icky stuff like that and still I salivated.

food food FOOD. Oh look almost lunch time. LOL!!!

OMG I have to admit I have seen them all at one point or another. Even tried some of the ideas (never came out like the picture). I love the food channel I would be hungry if it was not for today's problema. Will post that later after I find out what it is..

I wouldn't say I was a hug fan of the food Channel. I really enjoy Alton Brown, but he's a total geek, so obvously I would dig him.

I've always loved cookbooks, and I've always read them even when I had no intention of ever making anything in them. I have a reprint of an 1800 cookbook that I love. I've never cooked anything out of it, but it's fun to imagine doing so.

My husband watches food TV quite frequently since he got his band. It's pretty funny when he tries to tell me how to cook things. (He is pretty limited to grilled cheese sandwiches and pancakes....)

Dh and I watch Emeril fairly often. We have tried a few of his dishes and they were to die for. Some of it is just way too fussy for me though. I really don't like to cook.

I too am a food network addict. there I said it . I love the 30 minute meals and good eats. I have tried to make te 30 minute meals but it always takes longer than the 30. maybe they use special lights or cameras. I used to watch low carb and loving it but I don't like the way he rushes though a dish . anyway I get ideas from all of them and tryto adapt them to me and my new lifestyle.

I am also addicated to the food channel. I love to watch top 5 and unwrapped. I also like American Iron Chef, and Mario Battalia and Travelling on $40.00 a day.

But I can watch this all day long but I unfortunalty I have to work and then tend to kids then work again at night then visit this site so I usually watch between midnight and two since iam an insomniac.

I agree with Betty's favorite shows as my favorite too. I like Semi-homeade too, but, they have too much filter on the host that it makes what she's cooking blurry and I get a headache lol (I even e-mailed them about this lol)

My poor husband after his band correction watched it 24 hours a day. What a masachist(sp) He was on liquids at that time.

The only host I don't like is the guy on Boiling water...he's cute, but, he mumbles and has catch words he uses all the time. It is annoying. Plus the food he prepares are a little advanced for "How to boil Water" IMO

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
