Nymphs - How many fills have you had?

Recommended Posts

Elle, you are doing great!! I'm glad somebody else on here has a 4cc band too, I just had a fill last Mon. up to 2cc, I really didnt feel it much till yesterday (friday) Up until then, I really felt no restriction at all.

Close-

I have a 4cc Band and am at 1.5cc and am feeling some restriction but can eat more than I should. I am feeling it when the food goes down especially if I have not chewed or taken to big of bites. I really hurts to go down. At my last appt on 2/6/08 my Doc asked if I thought that I could go another 4 weeks without a fill. I told him heck no; I am still eating more than should I need something. He figures that since I lost 11.5lbs in 5 weeks that I am doing great but it has been through my own willpower. My next fill is 3/12 and it won't come soon enough. I haven't lost a lb in over a week and am stalled. I am not complaining though. I am quite happy with my progress.

I have had 3 fills and an unfill. I only have 4cc's in a 10cc band. I have a real problem with getting stuck. Sometimes the smallest bit of food gets stuck. Twice it happened with an egg omelet. The first time, I had mushrooms in the omelet so I thought it was that. It happened again a couple of days ago with just eggs and I was tearing and in agony until I slimed and it came back up. I'm actually thinking of having a bit unfilled. I have to eat meats smothered in gravy or sauce so it goes down. I feel like I'm adding calories. Anyone else having this problem?

I think it might be the eggs Cindy. Scrambled eggs seem to be a problem for me, almost always get stuck. I have 6.5cc in a 10cc band and even though some things get stuck,I can still pretty much eat what I want so I can't imagine you wanting an unfill at 4cc.

Cindy, I went from 1 cc to a full 2ccs, because I whined so much to the nurse, I really feel it now. Maybe 2cc's will do it for you too. hope so! I am finding that I really dont mind losing slowly, I didnt tell many people I was getting a band, due to poor attitudes about it. People think I'm just really good at dieting!

I just can't eat eggs. I was going to depend on them for my Protein as I don't like meat. The person giving me my 6th fill said that they work best when done in the microwave. I've not tried it. I'm too tight because I just can't eat in the morning and sometimes at lunch. I can still drink and I keep trying. I'm finally out of the 190's so that is a big plus for me.

Hang in there.

Cindy,

I had the same thing happen to me. After my second fill of 1.3 cc which put me at a total of 4.3cc I couldn't swallow anything. I could barely drink. I went in and had a small unfill of .5cc taken out. Then I was able to eat solids without getting stuck. 2 weeks later was my scheduled appointment for a fill. I felt like I could handle a fill at that time. I had a fill of .5cc and drank some Water and felt fine. Went home and that evening I couldn't swallow hardly anything. I was eventually able to eat clear Soups without a problem. I waited for 2 weeks to see if the band would loosen up but it didn't. I went back in and had .3cc taken out. I currently have 4cc in my band but I am able to eat solids without getting stuck and slimming. The doctor told me that some people need more cc's in their bands than others and that I shouldn't judge how much I have by others. I thought that I was suppose to be that tight, but I was having major heartburn and was uncomfortable all the time. Not to mention starving.

With all that said, I do think you will have better luck if you did have a small unfill because then you wouldn't be eating the extra calories in the gravies and you will be more comfortable. Then after you lose more weight you can go in for another fill. I hope this helps.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
