Other Maryland Bandsters?

Recommended Posts

Hi

I'm wondering if there are other Maryland bandsters out there these days. I live in Westminster and work in Baltimore (Woodlawn). I was banded on 12/6/07 and I'm doing well. I love reading the posts on this forum; I learn a lot from others and crave the support offered here. I just wanted to know if there were others in my area on the forum.

Hi there and welcome. I live in Southern Maryland and work in DC. Congratulations on getting the band. I love mine (sure, we fight sometimes, but what happy couple doesn't, lol). This site is a wealth of information. The good, the bad and the ugly. Best of luck to you.

Hello Maryland Bandster! My name is Debbie. I am a 43 year old mother of three children and I live in Parkville, MD. I was banded on 9/28/07 by Dr. Singh in Catonsville. I have lost 36lbs so far, that brings me to 230lbs. I still have a long ways to go, and I wish my weight loss would speed up. The last month in particular has been extremely slow. I think I need to call my doctor for another fill. Keep in touch.

do you know of any good lap band doctors in Maryland. I know someone who lives in Texas and she is moving to Maryland and needs a doctor to do her care. She was banded in December 2007

I know, I should probably be on the men's forum, but is there anyone out there on the upper Eastern Shore (Q.A., Kent Counties?)

Banded in early 2004 and relapsed, I really NEED to get back on track!

Thanks!

John

I live in Harford County (Forest Hill) and work in Baltimore County at CCBC-Essex campus.

I had Dr. Averbach at St. Agnes and would recommend him to anyone, I love him!

Hi! I live outside of Hampstead and work in Westminster. I haven't met anyone in Carroll County that has been banded. Would love to chat and share support if you are interested.

:smile:Hi. I live in Edgewood, Harford County, Maryland. I was banded 3/25/08 by Dr. Singh at St. Agnes. Singh, Averbach and Von Rueden are the surgeons at St. Agnes. They are a bariatric Center of Excellence, too.

I currently fluctuate between 149 and 152, and my goal weight is 150, so I guess I am there. Now to stay there!

Hi Patchelton! You have done fantastic!! How did you lose so much in 9 months? Since Dr. Singh is no longer with Averbach, do you travel to Columbia to see him? Congrats again!

Hi there. I live in Reisterstown. Banded 1/3/08 and doing well. I find this site to be more helpful than my doctor's office. There are hardly ever any post op people at the support group! Meri

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
