March 4 - LP Day

Recommended Posts

Hey - welcome to March 4th CTMan!

Right there with you on the pre-surgery exercise. Everyone either says they did and were glad or they wish they had. I walk/ran 2 miles this morning.

WHen I had my first consultation, they told me my 6 Diest Cokes/day would be an issue. I went cold turkey 2 days later. I tried one about 2 months after quitting and now I can't stand them. I don't even like most carbonated drinks now. Here is a funny thing - I sometimes accidentally order one when eating out. My DH justs laughs as I fumble with the waiter to fix it.

Good luck with the Dr. Pepper. I started drinking coffee for the caffeine - that was brutal. But it is way more fashionable!

Thanks Texgirly I will need it. Funny thing is, I am a Starbucks junkie too...LOL. I have been doing fairly well this week with the carbonated beverages.

Hi, guys!!

I'm actually being banded in February, but it sounds like we are all really close to being banded at the same time. My date is Wednesday, February 27th.

I've been cutting back on my food intake and not eating sweets. I'm also limiting myself to one can of my beloved Cherry Coke Zero a day. I think I might go through withdrawls after my band from not having it anymore!!

I'm also exercising when I get the chance. I know that I need to do a lot more, though!! :)

I've lost 13 lbs. on my own in the last 3 1/2 weeks. I'm going to weigh again in the morning and hope that some more has came off since the last time I weighed!!

I can tell that everyone here is as excited as I am to finally have a date.

I begin my pre-op diet on February 18th. When is everyone beginning there's??

Mel119,

I have my procedure on March 7 and I will be on an all liquids diet for just 24 hours. From what I am reading, everyone starts theirs about a week out. I go for labs and other test on Feb 29, so we will see if anything changes. Good luck!

Hi Trinitydad, I'm also being banded on March 4th. I also have a head full of doubts and second thoughts but the "what ifs" of not getting it done take over. What if I get fatter, what if I get diabetes, what if I have a heart attack. Thought of surgery is scary but it will be worth it in the end.

Hello Trinitydad,

I am scheduled for banding March 7th and I am getting nervous. However, I keep telling myself that having this surgery could possibly add years to my life, not to mention just healthier in general. I look forward to the day when I can have energy again to play outside with my three girls or even go for a walk (or run) with my husband. I am definitely looking forward to my bday! Think positive!!

Hey guys - can't wait!!! 6 more days. I have been missing for like weeks because if it was a virus in Texas it found me. Two different ones - first the big with the flu like stuff then a stomach virus that landed me in the ER. Everyone around me is asking what I have done to deserve this. Thankfully I am back to being healthy and still on track for March 4. Pre-op day is Feb 28th. WHOoo HOO!

Hey all. I'm one week away from my March 5 date! My doc put me on liquid/ Protein for the 2 weeks prior. I'd lost 8 of the 10 lbs she required, but she wanted to speed it up. Then on the day before, just Clear liquids. I'm already sick of Protein drinks, that's for sure. I had to eat some lettuce and tomatoes last night. Ha. Still drinking 1 c of coffee/day, but no more diet coke. Tragedy!

I think I'm ready to just get it over with at this point. And it's about time to make a ticker, I think. I love all your tickers!

March 4 for me too....Tampa General with Dr. Murr!! Pre-op diet a must for Murr's patients...the more you lose the easier it is to navigate around the liver in order to place the band around the stomach laporascopically. Can't wait to get this monkey off my back!! Good luck to all!

March 4th for me TOO!!! I am in St. Pete at Palms of Pasadena with Dr. Rehnke.

Good Luck!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
