First Fill

Recommended Posts

I just know my Dr does his fills to what you need.

I had the 10cc band in. and he wants you to feel restriction. so We drink Water when the fills are being done. so he knows what is too much. 6cc was too much but I think 5cc was not enough because I am not feling restriction right now.

I think next fill when I hit that spot of too much and he backs it off till it flows thru again. I will have him add a little more back into it and I will drink again to make sure I am at a good spot. I think I needed to be more vocal with him. He dosent know what I feel only I do.

I think I just had a bubble which is why I couldnt get the water down.

I had my first fill today. It went fine. I had it under fluro. My doctor overfills it and then has you drink to let you know how it fills when you are obstructed. It hurt. He then lets it out. I only got 1.6 cc fill today. He likes to be conservative. On top of that I have lost 20 lbs post-op and 20 lbs preop. I am on liquids until supper tomorrow nite. I just don't know what to eat first. I am scared to get obstructed.

I get my first fill tomorrow. I am VERY excited. My scale has bounced up and down between 221 and 223 for the last three weeks, plus I'm feeling hungry and fighting snacking so I know it's time. I really hope this helps. I would love to see the scale move, and I'd love to not feel like I'm about to gnaw off my arm from hunger! (I get REALLY frustrated when I feel like I'm starving myself and then still don't see the scale move.)

So stop starving yourself! You may be not eatting enough calories. If you dont get enough calories your body will do this starvation mode thing. and hold on to your calories.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
