What to do with your old clothes?

Recommended Posts

Just an aside, you do know that if you donate your clothing you get a tax deduction.

That's what I've been doing, just because I don't have time to ship out clothing. After I offered my sister some items and was told very firmly that she didn't need my used clothing, I thought that was my easiest solution.

Now granted that doesn't get me other people's stuff...so it's only a one sided solution.

Interesting what someone said about people taking and taking to sell on e-bay. That's terrible! I'm always surprised about how greedy some folks can be.

Well, here's an idea.......anyone looking to get rid of clothing can post exactly what they have and in what sizes....anyone needing those sizes can contact that person. Because it won't ever be a "fair" trade(because the person giving will be smaller than the person receiving), the person giving the clothes can pack them up and send them C.O.D.to the person wanting them. Even if you may never find any clothing that you are interested in among the hundreds of people on this forum, odds are that you would, you at least know that your efforts to go to the post office will have made someone else's day a bit better.

What do you think?

I dont think it even has to be a "trade" if postage if being paid . your right it cant be a swap because one is always bigger. HOWEVER its a "trade" with in the LBT Family sort of speak . So if one person has clothes to get rid of that same person will need clothes in theory as well. So that in a way is where the "trading " comes in . I dont know if they do COD anymore LOL I personally dont mind sending the clothes as long as someone pays back the shipping with in a relativity short period of time .

If people dont want to pay shipping they dont participate. IN the past for people who dont know me that well , I have scanned the receipt and emailed it to them to "prove" what it costs.

If your still looking for something to do with your old clothes and for whatever reason things don't work on the board, here's an idea. I work with a local church gathering clothes for the homeless. WOMEN'S PLUS SIZE clothing are ALWAYS NEEDED!!! Find a church or a shelter to donate to.

While that is sweet idea Laurinda to give them to others. What about us that need clothes for a short amount of time. If I am only going to need a certin size of clothing for 2 months and I work in an office. I hate the idea of spending so much for office clothes to wear for that little amount of time.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
