Thought I would ween myself back into it. I go back and see my doctor on Thursday and I can't wait! I want him to give me the thumbs up on driving again!!! I hope ya'll have a wonderful day out there! Stay warm <brrrr> and will chat soon! Peace to you and yours ~Laurinda~

Hi Laurinda,

I was banded on 15th in Sydney. It has been HOT here, so spending a lot of time indoors with the fan on.

I'm still a little sore and feeling weak from my liquid diet. Day 1 and 2 were pretty awful, Day 3 and 4 were heaps better, but day 5 was fairly ordinary. Hopefully today will be better and I'll get some sleep!

Bless your heart, hot and feeling the effects of surgery! How long do you have to be on the liquid diet? I have been on mushy like food since yesterday, not that I have eaten much but the calories sure did make me feel better! I sure hope you can sleep tonight! For me I spent a few nights in a recliner and that helped! Good -Luck to you! ~Laurinda~

I went back to work a week after surgery, and now I realize I should have taken the full two weeks, so take it slow.

I had surgery on Tuesday the 15th and went back to work for half the day Friday the 18th. I am fine, feel fine, and would be 100% better if they would let me Eat mushies. My appt is Wednesday and I am hoping he will let me eat oatmeal or something. Have lost 9# since Tuesday and all body functions are working:) But I AM STARVING!!! Today I was salivating over the food coupons in the Sunday Paper.:) Diane

I'm always tired. I've been having a nap in the afternoon. I'm on liquids for another week :)

I slept in my bed ok since the first night - it was just last night that I struggled - I think the low calories gave me really wierd dreams and kept waking me up!

Hi I had my surgery on the 10th and am on a liquid diet for another three weeks. I will go back to work on Thursday ( I am a teacher, and we have had five weeks holidays, so that is the normal day for us all to return to work here).

I am still achy on my port side whenever I try to lie down turn iover in bed or get into my car. I tried to stop the pain meds for a few nights, but last nght I decided I still need them and slept really well. Still getting shoulder ache from time to time and very bloated.

just had surgery the 17th and feel good. I've been really tired, and like the others have said...it's probably from the lack of calories. Today is the first day back on Optifast. I was supposed to have 3, but have only had one so far. Port site is really sore and the bruise is gross. The other 5 are healing nicely though. I will be on Optifast for 2 weeks (starting today) and then hopefully on to mushies. No regrets yet...I'm just anxious to start seeing the weight come off. I want to meet a summer goal that I have set for myself. Best wishes to all of you fellow January Bandsters!!! Keep to your diets and we'll all be here for support along the way.

Hi every one, I am also tired a lot. I got out of bed this morning and felt like I could have gone straight back again. It doesn't help that my husband and I are both late night owls either. I think our bodies just need some time to heal and anaesthetic can certainly take it out of you as well. Keep up the good work every one.

Hi guys,

Today (day 7) I feel fantastic! I went to the Dr to take my dressings off this morning and they look great - I would be suprised if you can see a scar. I went shopping and basically had a good time.

Hope you all feel better with more energy, I think I just got past the hungry weak feeling.

Jen

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
