that's not bad at all!! wooo hoo... guess what im having for lunch next week!!?? put it on top of some cheese crisps ... oh dear, i think i'll be in heaven!!

Cheesy Tuna

Ingredients:

1 small can of tuna in Water, drained well

1 Tbsp. sour cream

2 Tbsp. milk

1/4 cup shredded cheese (whatever kind you prefer)

Put milk, sour cream, and shredded cheese in a small microwavable bowl and microwave for about 1 to 1&1/2 minutes. Stir until creamy. If it's too thick add a splash more milk, if it's too thin add a little more cheese. Mix in tuna well and enjoy!

You could also add some dry seasonings or spices to it if you want, but I like it plain.

I'm not much of a tuna eater (don't really like any type of seafood) but I think I'll give this a try! I have a can of chicken in the cupboard, think I'll try it out with chicken until I get to the store for tuna. Thanks for sharing the recipe Georgia Girl!

I started a Atkins type diet last weekend but I'm not really doing the induction phase. I'm still trying to pick leaner cuts of Protein but if I want cheese, I eat it or if I want mayo, I use it. I am anxious to see my weight on Tuesday since I officially weigh in every Tuesday morning. Even eating all the fat I want, I still can't get in many calories

Jan 21st 666 calories, 40 g fat, 14 g carbs, 62 g Protein

Jan 22nd 978 calories, 50 g fat, 6 g carbs, 119 g protein

Jan 23rd 782 calories, 36 g fat, 15 g carbs, 95 g protein

Jan 24th 740 calories, 42 g fat, 15 g carbs, 76 g protein

Congrats on your success ... 159 lbs! That is awesome! :rolleyes2:

so far i am down 4.4 lbs since Monday

Just trying to get caught up as I haven't been on much the past couple days :angry: ... I am done (for now) :rolleyes2:

Thanks for figuring the full fat version. I was watching fat, but now that I am doing Atkins I am not. Just using up what I have before buying more. Is that for the whole can of tuna? ?? I only ate 1/2 at lunch and was VERY full!!

Thanks Bloo. Trust me, my stomach is still there, just less of it. I must say, I was very surprised when I saw the picture. It really feels good to actually be able to see a difference.

that is for a whole can. i havent had tuna in awhile, so not sure how much i can eat... i like the idea of maybe canned chicken too... ok, getting the head hunger now ... i had hot dogs for lunch... under 2 carbs, but oh dear the sodium... gotta keep the Water intake high or the scale is going to scream at me tomorrow.

and btw - i cant see the stomach, but i know how you feel...

Ok, I figured my totals for the week to see if I am really taking in more carbs than I thought. Losing, you are right, that caramel macchiato had a lot of carbs. Thankfully I had very few carbs otherwise that day, so I was still under 20. I think my diet is ok. I certainly welcome any suggestions.

Here are my totals.

well i came home and just stupidly ate a blueberry muffin. WHY??? dunno ... it got stuck and eventually came back up so, not sure how much i actually 'consumed', but grrrrrr

Losing, it's okay........sorry it got stuck and came back up.

Okay here's what I had today:

B-low carb slim fast

L-1 crab snack stick

D-2 oz. baked tilapia

Right now I'm drinking a cup of coffee with splenda and heavy cream in it. I don't know why, but I've been craving coffee all day!

Losing

I found these crab Snacks at my local Winn Dixie. It's made by Lois Kemp Seafood Company and their called Crab Snack Delights. It comes with 5 "peel and go" crab sticks. They're actually pretty big, and let me tell you........one of these Snacks fills me up for a while. It's hard for me to get a whole one down, I'm not sure if it's the consistency of the meat or what. It has 35 cal., 0g fat, 5g carbs, and 4g Protein per stick. I was expecting the Protein to be higher, not sure why it's not, but it's a good low calorie snack. It's made with crab and other seafood meats and it's fully cooked and ready to eat. I think it cost $2.99 per pack.

Here's what I had today

B - Atkin's shake, vanilla

L - 1/2 cheesy tuna (YUMMY)

D - 2 scrambled eggs

S - 1 sf popsicle

431 Cal

21.35 fat

14.2 carbs

9.2 net carbs

46.85 Protein

I have the munchies big time tonight. I ate a pork rind, but they don't seem to agree with me very well since I got banded. Bummer.... I may not have eaten enough calories today. I am really fighting night hunger.

Ok, I need opinions. I am going to my best friends house tommorow for a pampered chef party. Do I eat the food in very small portions, or do I not eat anything at all at the party.. My friend will not be offended if I don't eat. I just hate to draw attention to myself, and I'm sure it will be really good food that I will want to eat. I just figure I need to have a plan before I go. Even if I eat some. What would yall do?????

Breakfast ~ SBD Cereal bar (cuz eggs won't stay down!)

Snack ~ Atkins Caramel Latte shake

lunch ~ salad (2oz lettuce, 1oz salami, 1 slice Provolone, 1 hard boiled egg & 2 T Italian dressing)

Snack ~ 1 string cheese & 1/2oz pork rinds

dinner ~ 1/2 C ground beef mixed w/ salsa ... unfortunately it didn't stay down so I had some broth instead.

Totals for the day ~

1040 calories

67g fat

25g carbs :redface: (16 net carbs :frown:)

79g Protein

... and this morning the scale went down 4oz :hurray:

I'd eat just a little so like you said, not to draw attention to yourself ... just choose items you know are full of Protein and (try) to stay away from everything else :hurray:

      On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
      Soooo I am coming to a realization
      of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

        Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

        Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

        I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

        I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

        BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

      Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
